Following the answers to my previous question I am even more puzzled. Why did the Turks abandoned their original Monglian Orhun scripts for Arabic alphabets and then changed to Roman letters? I hope this is not about forgetting old friends and attaching yourself to wealthier friends of the moment. It sure seems like that when you want so much to join the EU now.

Yes, why not? We were waiting for your command. And the Finns can go back to using runes. I'd like to see that! And the Egyptians back to hieroglyphs. You know, Hittites used some sort of hieroglyphs, too. So, maybe we can use old Turkic alphabet AND Hittite hieroglyphs.
And I say, GIVE ANKARA BACK TO THE HITTITES!
And of course Ipek is right. You ARE learning something.
And High Tech is right... in asking all those questions.

We have abandoned it because of islam.
You can see it looks more like latin script than arabic.
