I'd like to find a hotel that has an awesome pool, beach access, fun atmosphere, and is close to town for bars, shopping, etc. (Not necessarily a hotel in Cabo, Y! made me pick a city for the 'travel' category....)

I'm trying to go to Seattle this weekend but won't have enough money for a plane ticket until Friday, the day I need to leave. I also need to be back by Sunday. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this without spending a fortune?

I hear it's a common practice in Miami Beach and not just on parties of 6 or more but for anyone. Has anyone heard of this happening any place else in US?

Hi,
I was thinking, is it a wise idea to travel to a city with some background knowledge, but not hire a local tour guide and wander by ourselves around the city to explore with a small group of people (3-5)?

Because being 'lost in translation' may allow the travellers a complete immersion into the culture and experience maximum absorption of 'culture shock'? Or is this totally not advisable, even if the city is relatively safe?

(Serious question. If you think I'm retarded asking this, then don't reply.)

Thanks.

i am visiting a sick friend in singapore and i wonder if i can get a better thing by booking directly with the hotel as i arrive there or by using online-booking services by third parties?
What are the possible consequences of each choice?

Hi,
I'm quite fascinated by the place Lhasa in Tibet with the beautiful natural untouched landscape and cool weather. Has anyone been there? What's a good time of the year to visit?

Is it advisable for a group of students (below 20) to travel there without adult supervision? What are some things to take note of while traveling there?

We are going to NY for the weekend and we found a website that sells the new york pass (www.newyorkpass.com). It sounds like a good idea to save money. Does anyone know anything about this pass? Are they worth the money? Do the attractions honor them like it says? Any info will help! Thanks!

I am looking for something to do with my husband after work and on the weekends, but don't have any money to do things that you have to pay for. IF you have any ideas of fun things to do or where I can look for local events please let me know. Also, looking for fun stuff to do that has great photo opportunities. We love taking photographs.

British passport, British licence. Just discovered UK licence invalid in UK since am now officially resident in Italy. And have also discovered UK licence doesn't count over here as I've been here too long (6 years - registered resident) and you're supposed to change it within 2, or something equally ridiculously.
So much for the 'open frontiers' of the EU, eh?!
Or am I just misinformed/paranoid?
