nope never. neither has my foreigner husband. if you're prepared and having everything in order, you are less likely to have problems. there is often a reason for any problems that they might give you, either something in your past or in your paperwork, or something that shows up when they scan your passport, or something about the way you look (i'm sorry but if you dress like a drug dealer, you just might get your bags checked, however they also do random inspections so you could be wearing a 3-piece suit and still get checked). bottom line, if you're not guilty of anything, then what do you have to worry about? it's a nerve-wracking experience for everyone but just be pleasant, remember that they are human too, and you will be oki doki.

never a problem....go from Canada to Vegas every year. got passport last year...before that, just birth certificate and photo ID. first time we went was 4 months after 9/11, and no problem even then. Made us feel safe to see US Marines patrolling Minneapolis airport carrying machine guns.

I had no problem, but that was MANY years ago.

My advice? Keep your mouth shut as much as possible. Only answer their questions. Offer no other talk, and Be nice.
