I am looking for something to do with my husband after work and on the weekends, but don't have any money to do things that you have to pay for. IF you have any ideas of fun things to do or where I can look for local events please let me know. Also, looking for fun stuff to do that has great photo opportunities. We love taking photographs.

Crown Center has free outdoor movies or concerts on Friday nights when the season permits.
Also on Thursday nights on the plaza people from 9 to 90 gather by the horse fountain for a game of "tag your it".
There is a lot of lakes in and around Kansas City where the Catfish are plentiful and hungry, all you need is some worms that after a good rain you can pick up from the sidewalks or chicken livers or shrimp and a fishing license.

and missouri town was always fun but i was a kid then. They are around Fleming park and are having a fall arts, crafts and music festival on october 7 & 8th. It does cost but i doubt that it costs much at all (and its per carload). Check their website out if you want at http://www.co.jackson.mo.us/rec_hs_mt.shtml

Hope this gives you some ideas!

Try the Plaza art fair. Also try in the summer Loose Park. They have the most beautiful rose garden that blooms there every spring. Shoal Creek museum in the northland has several great photo opps, especially with the historic buildings up there. Go to the visitors website. They shoudl have many free things listed on there too.

I go to the Tourist Center. They have anything and everything you could ever want to know about all the happenings. They have tons of brochures and listings and the personnel can answer just about any question you ask. The Kansas City/Independence's Tourist Center is located by the Sports Stadiums. This is the best place, by far, to get all the info you need.

I live in VA so I go to www.virginia.org. or Virginia is for lovers. It has different sections you can look under like attractions, events, activiteis and outdoor sports.
I find places that I didn't know were here. So I plan a day trip for every Saturday and take Steve, a picnic and the camera and end up at some cool places here in VA and NC.

Or look under the section of your local newspaper for attrations and stuff.

Check out Pitch.com 's Night and Day section. They list events that occur throughout the week and many of them are free. My personal faves are art gallery openings (free food!), Electromediascope (avant garde films), and Kemper Museum.
