i am visiting a sick friend in singapore and i wonder if i can get a better thing by booking directly with the hotel as i arrive there or by using online-booking services by third parties?
What are the possible consequences of each choice?

It's cheaper to book online, but make sure your travel plans are for sure. If you choose to cancel you have to make sure that the thrid party you book with allows you to do so. If you cancel you need to go through the third party and not the hotel or airline directly.

Hi....booking directly with the hotel is generally more expensive....
there are great deals to be found online....however there are risks that your reservations in not confirm or your credit cards details being mis-used.
Alternatively, you can either try contacting travel agents...they can get good packages from hotels....or approach the hotel reservation counter in the airport....

Secondly, I definitely advice booking it online. www.asiatravel.com is a great website...I always book my hotels from there...What is your budget, and where do u want to stay? near your friend? or closer to the city centre...then maybe we guys can advice you on a range of hotel that is indeed value-for-money...

Hotels usually offer their discounted rooms through third-party websites; however, often their discounts are through their own website as well.
