I've been waiting for my plantar fasciitis to heal and I've been getting treatment for several months now. It's nowhere near healing anytime soon, I was told it could take over a year or more. I'm really good at track (400 meter, triple jump, high jump) and I can't afford to sit this season out. So regardless of opinions I'm gonna go ahead and run w/ plantar fasciitis. I need some advice on how to work around that in training and competitions. Thanks.

Hey, I run the 400m dash and I am stuck with two strategies.
My first strategy is:
Sprint the first 50 m
Cruise to the 300m with a comfortable sprint pace
depending on my competition
Sprint all out the last home-stretch 100m

My second strategy is:
Near-sprint first 50m
Cruise to 300m... but not as fast, kind of fall behind to the back
And sprint the last home-stretch with plenty of energy

Everytime I do strategy 1, I run out of energy at the end,
and as much as I want to kick my last bits of energy,
I'm not able to because I've exhausted my energy already.
When I do this strategy, people always tend to pass me at the
end.

When I do strategy 2, I seem to have a great kick at the end,
But I don't want to lose too much ground when I go slower the
first 300m.
Instead of getting passed by because I have no energy,
I seem to pass people more.

Help!

I am tryin out for spring track, and i would like to know anything you need to know to be good at it. Do you have to be in shape? Do you have to run fast? What do the numbers mean?

I am the leader of both the running club and the walking club at my local sports club. I am a runner, not a walker. Is there any difference in the preparation of a marathon between a runner and a walker before I get in front of these people? I believe they are very similiar but don't want to give the walkers bad advise. Thank you.

I'm a runner-I love to run, and it makes me feel so much better about myself when I run. The thing is, after cross country season last fall, I sort of fell into a slump (partly because of a new job) and just couldn't work up the motivation to run. Now that I've quit my job, and have made up my make-up work from being sick again, I NEED to start running again-track starts next week. The thing is...I can't get motivated again for some reason, and normally motivation isn't a problem for me at all. Today, I came home, sat down at my desk, and ate 3.5 servings of Twizzler Nibs and pretzels with chocolate milk, despite the fact that I'd told myself this morning that I'd go running after school.

Before this...slump? I didn't have this problem-I'm a good runner, I'm on varsity, and am one of the best on the team-or I was; I'm not so sure about that anymore. Is something wrong? Or do I just need some new motivation? Please help!

I run track and have problem when we do our warm ups. One of the exercises we do are called mule kicks. In mule kicks we get in like a push up position and kick our butts with our legs five times. Whenever I do this my shirt goes up and i'd like to keep it down. Any tips on how to keep my shirt down?

I have tried to tuck my shirt in but it comes undone and looks weird because you can see the tag from my shorts because i roll my shorts up.

I am trying to find something to do (sports) at school. I'm going to 10th grade next year and I want to become involved. I was thinking that over the summer I could begin training myself for cross country and track season next school year. I've never played sports or ran track before. I know I won't be that good, but i want to try anyway. I think I run fast if you take my size into consideration ( I'm like 5'3 and like 130). So i figured if i lost some pounds and worked on my speed and endurance i could do okay. How can I train? Or would it be a bad idea to start something this late? * I really want to try*
