I go running at night and after I've been running for a while and started to sweat I start to get chilly. Nights right now are pretty cold where I live, but I wear a cotton undershirt and sweatshirt. And the starts of my run don't make me feel chiilly. Is my cotton undershirt the culprit? Is my sweat making me feel cold in the cold weather? What can I do as a solution?

I ran 10 miles easy today in 63 minutes. I have went 4:12 in the 1600 and 9:02 in the 3200. Am I a decent runner? I'm also 19 years old. Do you think I'll be able to run a 27 minute 10k and go to the Olympics someday?

Do you think that some people go running just to be seen running rather than for actual health reasons? I mean why do some people run at busiest time of day on busiest streets peferebaly during rush hour?

I am 27, soon to be running my first 10/k race in about 9 weeks. I am looking for a suitable weight training program to accompany my running program. I am also wondering if there are any supplements that would be beneficial to distance running.

I already run about 2 miles a day, but I run alone. I don't really get along with people too well. My friend joined Cross Country and likes it, but I just don't know if this is right for me. I know sometimes in Track you have to jump over things, and you're on a team, but I'm not into that, really. What do you think?

alright so i run track for my high school. i ran in middle school and i liked it. i just dont know about this year. i was good last year (8th grade) but i dont know about this year. im not the slowest one on the team but im not necessarily the fastest. it gets old practicing 5 days a week too. its not that i cant take it, but i dont know. my heart does this strange thing too. gets fast and whatnot. makes me dizzy. the coach says its oxygen debt but i dont think so. id just like to know your opinions on this: i want to quit the team (season hasnt started) but id hate to do it because 1) im not a quitter and 2) im dont want people to give me crap. im not the type of kid who youd bully, if you were wise (not being cocky or anything, im not really the biggest guy, just dont take it) but you cant really knock someone out for a rude comment. so what should i do? stay or go?

i have a question that ive been debating about with my friend for sometime now and turning to you guys for your opinions might prove helpful.the argument is that he thinks that any runner a slow one an average one or just one that busts his butt off training can become as great as some of the true elite runners. my side of the argument is that i believe that those types of people(elite) are already born with it and no matter how hard/long a runner trains they can never be as great as the one who is born with the potential.in otherwords every person that runs already has their barrier set up to where they can improve. what do you think ????

I recently bought a heart rate monitor for running and have noticed an oddity in my heart rate when picking up intensity on a long distance run, 5km and up.

Say I run a 1:38 for first few laps, then I cut it down to 1:33 for the next subsequent laps. What I notice is that my heart overreacts at first and then stabilizes. It jumps from 158 to about 168 and then comes down to 162. Then say a mile later I increase it to 1:29 laps, my heart rate will spike to like 175 and then stabilize to around 169. Is it normal for the body to react this way to a gradual increase in resistance? What is physiologically going on that is causing this to happen?
