personally, being a distance runner and having tried multiple events, i would have to say the 400m... it is rough and it kills you by the 300m mark...

anyway, i would say the 4 x 400m relay is harshest: you can let people down on that...

i am thinking of purchasing a fuel belt. currently i have one of those one bottle water carriers and i hate it b/c it moves around too much. i think i will shell out a few more dollars and get myself a fuel belt but i'm not sure if i should get a 4 or 6 bottle belt. if i get a 4 (or 2 bottle) belt, will i be able to add more bottles using clips, etc? what about the gel bottle? can i just put the gel in the regular bottles? if anyone has any info on this it would be greatly appreciated.
ps. right now i'm training for a half marathon. how many bottles will i need if i don't want to make stops at the water stations?

I need my athletes to recover quickly from strenuous track workouts. If I have them take an ice bath what will that do? How does one take an ice bath? How long? Can it cause damage to a persons body? Any other details would be appreciated.

I have baseball tryouts tomorrow and the coach makes us do a really long run. I get really easily out of breath and end up running slower than I would if I were walking.

How can I do this run without doing it really slowly and getting out of breath quickly. Also I'm really nervous about it too. Is there a proper running technique or something?

Are there any shoes that have a good arch support without buying inserts? If you go and look into the shoes, most are completely flat on the insole, surprise feet aren't flat on the bottom! I am on my feet all the time, so far New Balance is the best I can find, but even they aren't comfortable.

I just got my track uniform since I'm going to be starting track in my high school for the first time, I'm in 9th grade. Are they really supposed to be this short? They are showing a LOT of leg and extremely short.... definintely not something I'm used to... Did I end up with the wrong thing or something? I don't want to get stares. It's going to feel funny having all those people who come to track meets seeing that much leg on me...

Track and field starts tomorrow and we were supposed to turn in our physicals my feb.22. I asked the coach if I could turn mine in late and he said its alright and I should tun it in before track starts. Well, it turns out i cant turn it in until wednesday because my doctor said it wont be ready until tuesday. If my mom writes a note explaining it will the coach still let me participate? Because I went on the school website and it said students will not be allowed to participate in an interscholastic sport, gmes or practices, without a parent consent form and a physical form. I can turn in the consent form tomorrow but not the physical. Also, my dad just switched jobs and we dont have insurance yet. We will have it by next month. You're supposed to fill in you insurance information on your physical and I dont have any right now. If my mom includes that in the note too, will I still be allowed to participate? Track starts tomorrow, monday March 5th.

I recently started running longer distances and now my knee is feeling really funny . While I was running If I ran to fast I would get this feeling in my legs like it was kind of asleep. Is this a big deal or is it just nothing? It was a longer run than usual which I took by accident due to the fact that it was a golf coarse and I severly underestimated its size
