Track and field starts tomorrow and we were supposed to turn in our physicals my feb.22. I asked the coach if I could turn mine in late and he said its alright and I should tun it in before track starts. Well, it turns out i cant turn it in until wednesday because my doctor said it wont be ready until tuesday. If my mom writes a note explaining it will the coach still let me participate? Because I went on the school website and it said students will not be allowed to participate in an interscholastic sport, gmes or practices, without a parent consent form and a physical form. I can turn in the consent form tomorrow but not the physical. Also, my dad just switched jobs and we dont have insurance yet. We will have it by next month. You're supposed to fill in you insurance information on your physical and I dont have any right now. If my mom includes that in the note too, will I still be allowed to participate? Track starts tomorrow, monday March 5th.

No, sorry. It's okay if you don't have insurance, I think.

Due to laws, schools cant legally let you run wtihout a physical because it puts them at risk. It's nothing personal against you though so don't take it to heart. That doesn't mean that you can't go out on a run by yourself though! Explain your situation to the coach and ask him what a good workout would be for you to do alone without the team because you do want to be a part of the team but you understand you cant because you don't have your physical.

As far as insurance goes, just leave it blank and if they ask say you don't know. That never is an issue. There is no law requiring you to have insurance. Once you do get it, go ahead and ask if you can add it to the sheet then or just don't worry about it. If they ask you again in a month like you said- that's when your dad would have insurance, then you can tell them what it is!

This is an easy problem to fix and you'll have your physical soon enough. As long as you notify the coach and let him know that you are committed, that should be enough.

Well I would have your mom write you a note saying that you ahve got your physical btu i will not be in until the next day. They may or may not let you run but if they dont you have to prove to them the next match you have that you are ready. You have to prove that you are better than everyone out there

Well, explain this to your teacher. Tell him you really enjoy track, and that you would appreciate him letting you be on the team even though you can not turn your form in.

Also, have your mom/doctor write a note and have both of them sign it, that may help also. :D

most schools wont let you practice without a physical. at my hs they wouldnt let you on the practice field if you didnt have one yet. its just to cover their asses. i think as far as the insurance it shouldnt matter. just dont fill it in, you can do it later when you get it all together and stuff. if youre that worried about missing practice, watch what the team does and go do it by yourself.
