In terms of which is best for your body, its definitely cross country. Pounding on concrete puts an enormous strain on your knees, whilst running on grass provides more cushioining. As well as that, cross-country provides more incentive to the runner because normally you are away from traffic and therefore breathing in fresher air and hopefuly enjoying better views.

Cross country the scenery is better, but theres a chance of rolling an ankle, road running you*ll be in traffic, car exhaust, looking at skyscrapers/office buildings and pounding on concrete. But I think there*s more money prizes in road racing
For you personally it*s what you like that makes the decision.

You know I am not what you call a runner by any stretch of the imagination but I must say road running is harder and more boring, I like cross country, orienteering is better

i do a lot of both, my preference is cross country, as road running is harder on your joints and i suffer knee injuries. on cross country its more exciting and you see more things, and road running is often longer (not necessarily) but reaaly neither is better then the other, both will knacker you out after a long time and you need as much endurance for each, its reallly down to personal choice

I do both, and I'd definitely say that cross country is better-it's easier on the joints, less chance of getting run down by a crazy driver, and the scenery is so much better!

cross country is better than road running
1)road running- it involves 1 sort of terrain
2)cross country- it involves different sort of terrain and with this 1 you can use a training method which is fartlek training..this can improve and develop speed and to raise the anaerobic threshold.
