Was just thinking about it, and although I believe he will return couldn't the Sox put Youk back at 3rd, where he used to play and shop for a first baseman? I have no idea at this point who is available for either position, but couldn't that be an option?

State what team this player is on or what team they played for (doesn't have to be a current player) just in case someone doesn't know who they are. A few stats would also be great. Why would you choose this person? What kind of questions would you ask this player?

Arod or Mike Lowell? and lets for hypothetical reasons say they earned the same amount.

He just accepted the offer. I think he's a better fit than Don Mattingly.

If the Yankees are true to there word, and do not go after A-Rod this off season, he will sign with another team. Assuming that he puts up the numbers he usually does, he will be the starting third baseman on for either the NL or the AL all star team next year. For those of you that do not know, the All Star game will be at Yankee Stadium.. What do you think, boos or cheers from the fans in the stands when he gets introduced?

The last two years, the television ratings for the World Series have been all-time lows. It's not like we aren't having teams beloved all over the country either with both the Cardinals and Red Sox having national followings. But I guess it's a product of football being number 1 anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if college football had higher ratings on Saturday night.

And baseball is more popular than ever as far as attendance. Maybe it's a thing people love in person but not as much on TV?

What are your thoughts about this?

the teams playing or the fact that baseball is losing it's popularity overall?
My guess would be steriod backlash, but that shouldn't really be the reason because the NFL's ratings are great even with the NFL's performance substance problems

Realistically, there are only four teams who could come close to offering A-Rod the money he wants.

A.) The Boston Red Sox, who just won a World Series without him.

B.) The Anaheim Angels, who've already stated that they won't pay that kind of money for any player.

C.) The Chicago Cubs, who might end up being the best overall fit.

D.) The Yankees, who A-Rod has already essentially said "no" to, by opting out of his contract. With Torre and many coaches defecting to the Dodgers, will the Yanks have to weigh in and make a play for A-Rod, if nothing else, to help sell tickets to pay for the new stadium opening in 2009?

I just heard on the WFAN that Joe Torroe is trying to take Grady Little's job as Dodgers manager. If this is true, Joe's true colors are coming out. Joe is desperate. He wants to manage but has been kicked out of Yankee Stadium, if you will.

This situation goes to prove that people, when desperate, will take your soul if you let them. Shame on Joe Torre if it is true that he's been talking to the Dodgers about taking Little's job. There's more than meets the eye in this world. The people we love (some of us WORSHIP) on tv, are really no better than the worst person in your list of foes.

I don't trust humans at all. I only trust God. Why do I feel this way? Life has taught me that God is the only One who can be trusted for there is NO LIE or DECEPTION in Him. I am very disappointed with the entire Yankee franchise. I think their cut throat attitude is the reason why so many baseball teams hate NYC.

Shame on you Joe Torre!! If you need a job, the NYC Department of Education can hire you as a sub teacher. Come on, Joe, you can talk to the kids about baseball all day. LOL.

If the Dodgers due decide to opt out of the contract with Grady Little and Hire Joe Torre, and Don Mattingly does follow Torre to the Dodgers...................is it realistic that Alex Rodriguez would consider playing for the Dodgers and his old boss, and does LA even have the cash for him?

Did the embarrassing one sided world series leave you satisfied?

Did FOX TV dictate a poor TV schedule, based on whrn their schedule was weak?

Why not afternoon games in the world series AND what's wrong with Saturdays? Why can't MLB world series stand up to college football?

Did the schedule maker doom the NL team?

Did the schedule maker at Fox TV set it up so kids (the next generation of sports fans) couldn't see MLB world series?

Are you old enough to remember the buzz kids got out of day time MLB world series broadcasts???

Are some pitchers "human rain delays". Football and basketball have time clocks. Should baseball enforce it's own rules on "time between pitches"???

How? Is a clock too crazy!?!

I know a big buzzer would be weird! Should umps have a vibrating stop watch???

Or some idea you have.

What about the DH rule? How bout a 10 man batting order in both leagues including both a DH and the pitcher, so both leagues are OK unity?

Don't you guys think they're championship contenders right away and could compete with the Red Sox now. They have the money they're the number team on the list to get him and they do need a big bat.

The World Series in Major League Baseball has been played since 1903 except in 1904 and 1994. Out of all the World Series team that have been played, which team would you consider as the Greatest World Series Team Ever?

This can included any team from 1903 to 2007 including the 1903 Boston Americans, the 1942 St. Louis Cardinals, the 1968 Detroit Tigers, an the 2007 Boston Red Sox.

The Major League Baseball Team I consider as the Greatest World Series Team is the 1974 Oakland Athletics.

Sounds pretty stupid to me. Its a small city, a tiny sports market, with less than 600,000 people, not even half of them are Bosox Fans.

Boston, sure is the Nation of weird people.

I guess that happens when the Big Market teams such as LA and NY are not in the WS, and small town teams such as the Red Sox and the Rockies Series receives low ratings.

The Rockies were amazing though. NLCS certainly attracted mor e people than any Red Sox series.
