D-Rays Alex Sanchez was the first one suspended under the new rules. April 2005. Not so much "getting caught," but rather, "testing positive."

Wiki has a pretty good list.

When Manny Alexander played with Boston (2000), illegal steroids were found in his car.

Alexander batted .211/.261/.325 with four homers (one short of his career high) that year, in 101 games.

No one ever mentions this incident (and it was never substantiated he USED the steroids) because it completely rebukes the notion that 'roids turns common physiques into .350/.400/.650, 50-HR hulks.

I mean, come on!, .211????? He batted .271 in 1999, and even if THAT was a 'roid performance, it makes for a crappy sales pitch for BALCO and the like -- "try dis here magic potion, kid, and yoo too can slug yer way up to bein' a benchwarmer!"
