Kobe Rodriguez....I mean, A-Rod, has an agent who has just tried to upstage the World Series with the annoncement about his client and has never accepted a lesser financial package for any of his clients. To think he would start now would only be speculation by someone who doesn't follow baseball.

Here is the problem if they do. By opting out of his present contact the Yankees will not receive the additional $17M a year from the Rangers to supplement his $252M 10 deal. That means if the Yankees want to resign him, they will have to pay him 100% of the new contact, or approximately $30M each year of the contact.
If A-Rod had not opted out and continued with his present contact for the next three years, the Rangers were still obilgated to supplement the present contract until it runs it's course.
This is why the Yankees probably won't make an effort to resign him. They will take that additional freed up money and buy some badly needed pitching.

Sorry to tell you, but it's pretty much over for A-Rod's long but short tenure in pinstripes. You have to think of Scott Borass here. He is a money vampire, he wants more. A-Rod will see offers from other teams. If any team offers more than 30 mil a year then he won't come back to the Yankees. It's a possibility that he might return just to stay a Yankee and be part of the tradition of Babe, Lou, and Don.. but it's likely he will go with the team who offers him the most money. It is A-Rod after all.

I think the Yankees would have signed A-Rod if it wasn't for Scott Boras. Not only that, he would have wanted to end his career as a Yankee if it wasn't for Boras. Boras is a greedy agent. He is also sick in the head. He is the puppet master and A-Rod is the puppet. Boras is also manipulative since he was able to convince him to get out of the Yankees, and that he got A-Rod to believe that he is worth $30 million a year. Seriously, how much money does a person need? Somebody should just put Boras in a nuthouse for at least 20 years, and he should be forced to share a room with someone who is carving something, that isn't there.
