Don't you guys think they're championship contenders right away and could compete with the Red Sox now. They have the money they're the number team on the list to get him and they do need a big bat.

Also A-Rod might play better in the playoffs because Anaheim doesn't have the media pressure as New York does. Whenever the media zooms in on A-Rod he struggles.

Well that's what people always say. They don't want to do it but they still do it. The Angels do really need a big bat. They're not going to get past the Sox without one. And also there's no one else.

He is perfect fit here

THE BIG IF

would Arte Moreno, the owner pay the money A-rod wants???

A-rod would be the missing piece in the angels puzzle. He would provide good protection behind vlad guerrero. The media presence isn't as strong as LA or NY here so there wouln't be that much pressure.

He can play SS here or 3rd base. Orlando Cabrera is unselfish he wouldn't mind moving over to 3rd if AROD wants to come here

MIke Scoscia will utilize his hitting and his speed and make him a legit 40 - 40 guy. I think he would be the perfect compliment to Vlad to play small ball...speed never goes on a slump so if his hitting sucks he can still use his speed to thrive in this offense

Here's the thing tho

what if he serves as a distraction yet again? lol

im not sure if he's committed to winning a championship

I would love for him to come here to So-cal with Kobe on his way out...I wish both of them were here tho

that would make it a tristar powered city

Beckham, Kobe and Alex Rodriguez....WOW!!!! THINK ABOUT IT

I wish Kobe stays , im a huuuuge Laker fan lol

Anyways getting back to A-rod

If he's committed to winning and doesn't bring that extra baggage here to serve as a distraciton, he's welcome

The last person you or any team needs on thier team is A Rod. As a Yankees fan, I watched him play every day for 4 years. I really don't understand why everyone wants him. Did u ever hear the fans over the last 4 years, when the Yanks played at home, and A Rod was at bat? He was always booed every time (last few months of this past season was the exception). Why do you think we booed him? Because we saw how over rated he is. No Yankees fan who has been a Yankees fan for 20+ years liked him. Yes he hit 54 homers 130+ RBI's, but when does he hit anything, only when the Yankees have a commanding lead. When he is needed in a clutch situation, he makes an out EVERY SINGLE TIME, and most of the time it's a double play. This has been 4 years now, not just a slump, or a bad season, this is how he is, he STINKS. His post season record is the worst in MLB history. And defensively he is just average. So why does everyone love this man, if his own fans hated him, that should tell everyone something.

If the Yankees could have, they would have traded him 3 years ago and they would have eaten his salary, just to get rid of him, and they would have done the same thing 2 years ago, and last year also. The Yankees management is glad he left, why do you think they are so adiment about not even trying to bid for him, and anybody that knows anything about the Yankees know the last thing the Yankees care about his spending money, and even they didn't want bid for him, and the Yankees fan LOVE he left because we never wanted him to begin with.

Even the Red Sox fans right after they won the world series were chanting don't get A Rod. They werent cheering their team won, they were chanting don't get A Rod because they see how much he stinks.

If you want the Angels to win, you are better off spending the money on pitching. Piching and defense is what wins games, NOT hitting. If you have a team with good pitching & good defense, the hitting doesn't matter, you can have a team batting .250 making base hits all day long and you will have a team unstoppable.

The Angels are good without him. Paying a guy 1/2 a million to strike out in the playoffs make absolutely no sense. A-rod needs to go to a team like the Devil Rays and with his 10-12 years left they can build around him.
He should not go to the Red Sox either. They have a great 3rd basemen in Mike Lowell and they should re-sign him for the remainder of his playing days.

yeah, i think the halos should be considered serious contenders if they get arod, what an rbi machine that team would be, figgins and orlando get on, vlad, arod, garret and kotchman to drive em in, itd be sweet
i think also that people tend to forget the fact that arod HAS succeded in the playoffs, when he was not the huge star or in the huge market, does nobody remember his successes with the M's? get him out of new york and he can be the player he once was, team him with vlad and suddenly all the pressure is off both the big boys, the numbers will shoot up for both of them, regular season and playoffs, and the red sox will not be able to shake the rally monkey from their backs the way they did there dismal past failures

No, as has already been shown by his continured shortcomings in the playoffs. Has A-Rod actually won anywhere he has played? In Seattle he played w/ some of the best players in the game at the time. R.J., Griffey, Boone, Martinez, etc. and didn't win a thing. Didin't do a thing w/ Texas, and totally failed in NY. If the Angels get him, it will be a mistake. A-Rod is about A-Rod. As the old saying goes, " There is no I in Team"

After what happend in the playoffs this season, arte moreno knows that the angels need power, so he is going to give his new GM the green light to sign A-rod...in '08 the angels are gonna kick the red sox A@@

Shed no tears for the poor little rich boy A-Rod .He will make more money in one year than you will make in a lifetime. If the poor baby can't handle the media pressure then tell him to stop asking to be paid like he can handle it
For the 2007 season how much more money do you think that A-Rod the choker made than Jacoby Ellsbury [ who came thru in the clutch ] did last year 50x ? ,100x ?
Knowing his history the Angels would be crazy to sign him

Why would the Angel fans want A-Rod, I mean all season many Angel fans were saying things like, he sucks, calling him Gay-Rod, money hungry, & now you want him on your team.

Arte Moreno has already said that he cant see paying another player 10 million more than he pays Guerrero. A-rod aint taking a paycut ( Boras is his agent) so I dont think it will happen.

gosh if we do.. we'd get suuch a media boost hahahaa

we'd be on baseball tonight espn .. AND sportcenter!
buut i dunno where he'll fit. but the angels do need a bat
sigh.. i get too attached often to players.. and that sucks for me.. maybe cuz i'm a girl.. i'm like "everyone should stay!" haha which is impossible
a-rod doesn't look good in angel red.. but if he'd take us to a w.s. i'm all for it :)
