I'm a Yankees fan, as much as I hate the Red Sox, this should have all been done on Tuesday, so Boston had at least one day to bask in their glory. They have a good team, they just won the WS, it's only fair, they deserve it. This is the 3rd posting where I'm sticking up for the Red Sox, I must be in the twighlight zone LOL.
But you have to understand one thing, NYC is a huge city. The 5 most populated cities in the USA are NYC, LA, Chicago, Houston, & Philly in that order, and NYC has more people than those other 4 cities combined. It also has more people than 45 states, 46 if you include NY state since more than 1/2 the people who live in NY state live in NYC. Having said all that, all the media is in NYC. So anything that happens in NYC dominates the news for the rest of the country, because all the network TV stations home offices' are in NYC, all the national magazines are based out of NYC, the major newspapers are all in NYC, everything is here.

No matter how much noise the Yankees make - and most of that noise is currently coming from their crying, whining fans - the fact remains that Boston is the world champion, a feeling that most Yankees fans have probably forgotten.
As a fan of another team, I can tell you that I couldn't care less about media coverage. I'd tried all the front-page stories in the world for a chance to win a World Series, and let losing teams - like, for example, the Yankees - be the media darlings.

I think it's because the world series isn't the same anymore. Everybody knew that the Rockies had no chance against the Sox *no offensive to Rockies fans*. There was no desire to watch a game where you knew the outcome. I am 15 years old and I love baseball. I love to play it, but watching it just seems boring. We don't have the epic 7 game battles anymore. It's just a quick series. It's never the best teams at the World Series anymore.

More noise? Were those Yankee failures doing a recreation of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, with Hank and Hal acting as the dual triggermen on those worthless carcasses?

Because the lowlife Scott Boras chose to make the announcement during the 7th inning of game 4 of the World Series. No class.
