The Yankees are truly a team in disarray. They're badly disorganized and look flustered and overwhelmed by what the Red Sox, Indians and other teams have done to them.

They've just lost their best manager in franchise history and whatever all-star they had in A-Rod. Their rotation is filled with holes.

Meanwhile, Steinbrenner's health is quickly going downhill, and if heart problems don't get him, the stress of seeing the Red Sox win one World Series after another, might be enough to take its toll. That would leave ownership of the Bombers in question.

They seem to lack confidence, and their fans' morale is way down. Teams no longer seem intimidated by them ('07 Indians, '06 Tigers, '04 Sox, '03 Marlins, '02 Angels, '01 D-Backs, and the list goes on).

They seem to have taken on the role of perennial choke artists. Basically, if ballclubs were ships, the Yankees would either be Titanic or the Edmund Fitzgerald (take your pick).

Frank Wren is officially on my bad list. He just got assigned to his new GM role and now he pulls this? What is he thinking!? Edgar Rentaria, thats crazy! Don't tell me he is putting Yunel Escobar as are starting second baseman? He is not ready for that yet.

All I got to say is John Shurholtz please come back? ( I know he didn't leave but I know that he wouldn't have made such a stupid decision.)

Do you find yourselves cheering for certain players regardless of whether they play on your team or not. If so, who are/were they. I'll give you an example. Although I'm a Yankee fan I've always followed the careers of players like John Smoltz, Todd Helton as well as others. I was always a big
Carl Yastrzemski and Dwight Evans fan. Do you do the same?

you look today and see a lot of these future hall of famers and(with a few exceptions) you look again and you notice how many different teams they have been on and it makes you wonder why such a solid player would be moved around so much? what is it money? lack of respect or do the players agents have alot to do with it?

Can you imagine Kent Hrbek putting on goggles while the game is still on to get ready to party? What a blatant lack of respect towards your opponents.

Can you imagine Derek Jeter doing the riverdance and Mariano Rivera walking around the field with his pants off? No, because that isn't how the Yankees conduct themselves.

By the way, that's a great hair style Manny. For a chick. Why not just wear a bra while you are at it.

Im entering my senior year in high school and have been playing baseball my entire life. Ive been a varsity starter since my sophomore year. During my junior year i hit .330 at the plate and i started taking the game seriously and ive been working out everyday and hitting.
The only problem is that I havent even been sniffed by a college scout. However this summer i am playing legion ball and hitting .400 and playing solid in the outfield. Its my dream to go and play at a good college and then after college to prolong my baseball career in the big leagues. However I know the odds. If I go on to play at a d3 college, do I have any shot whatsoever or should I just give up on my dream.
Another problem that I have is my size right now I'm currently 5 10 and only weigh about 150 and dont have to much bulk to me.
Do I have any realistic shot at someday becoming that good if I play through college. People who have seen me play now would say I have no shot. But what about in the future?

Seems very likely to me. Trade Manny and make the other team also take Lugo(of course we will take on some of Julios salary). Sign Arod and Mike Lowell, having Arod play SS. Jocoby plays left field and leave Coco in center.

after watching about A-Rod last night on Sports Center, I became really worried about the other players like Mussina and Rivera and my beloved Jorge Posada. What do you guys think is going to happen with them? I could care less about A-Rod. I'm really hoping that these other guys stay!!

The Yankees simply said, "opt out of your contract, bye bye!" Do you think the rest of the teams might just say, "no player is worth that much; and simply not make an offer?
