..I just learned about this kid you have named David Murphy. He was a beast in college, and he was a beast in about 100 ABs last season. Just how good is he, and what are the Rangers plans for him next season (since they already have Byrd in center)

Hello, I'm a Japanese. At the first setout, congratulations!

I'm happy with the achievement of Red Sox. Because there are two Japanese players in your team. Many Japanese became the fan of Red Sox this season and they feel happy now.

By the way do you think how much did they contribute to Red Sox this season? Please tell me your final assessment. Thank you for your answer in advance.

As a red sox fan I fear that Epstein might be tempted to give A-rod a huge deal (say, 7-8 years, $200-230mil+). That would completely crush any hopes of building a farm system and raising home grown talent. Plus that would also leave no room for new pitchers when Schilling leaves or retires.

i mean last year there were walkoff homeruns, close games, errors that changed the whole game, etc.... this year there were a lot of sweeps, blowouts, and a world series where you knew who was gonna win even before it started. just pretty boring

Did anyone else just hear Gammon totally rip A-Rod on ESPN? Basically, he called him out for drawing attention to himself during the World Series with his opt-out announcement. He went on to say, "Buyer beware, maybe there's a reason he has never been in the World Series." Would anyone care to join my new religion that worships the Lord Peter Gammons?

Arod was going to make $27 million f*cking dollars next year! Can you comprehend that number? The Devil Rays' whole payroll in '07 was only $23 million. Just who the hell do they think is going to pay Arod more than $27 million dollars?

Ok I have a question....hockey is supposedly a barbarian support to some u ask, yet after EVERY game all the players from each team shake hands. Yet baseball, MUCH more tamer, they no longer shake the other teams hands....only their own? Why is that? They used to shake hands in baseball, not anymore tho.

Even if your team wasn't in the playoffs, or if they were terrible. Just being a baseball fan, isn't it depressing to see that the season is over?

The Yankees have already said flat out that they will not bid for his services. Is there any other team out there that could actually afford to pay him $25 million/year or more? I think it would be hilarious if he ends up in Anaheim or Chicago making only $23 million.
