I sidearm the ball, it gives me better accuracy, and I throw much faster. but last season, my coach kept me out of almost all the games becasue I sidearm the ball, and I was the best player on the team! is it really that bad? or was he just being a jerk?

I am putting a broom on top of the entertainment center, the Red Sox hat my hubby bought me when we started to date in 2004 (the Red Sox started to win the day after), and all my local new papers from 2004 when the won the world series!

This is an outrage and I am calling all Yankees fans, if they manage to get tickets for this rare occasion, to BOO THE LIVING CRAP ONCE THEY ANNOUNCE HIS NAME. In my opinion, being a die-hard Yankee fan, Joe Torre had to go. It starts and ends at the manager. God Bless Joe Torre, but he had to go. No disrespect to this first ballot HOFer, but he wasn't getting it done. In the end, the manager gets the brunt of the accusations. And in this case, after seven years without a title, I blame Joe. He was the only one who didn't do his job. Cashman and Steinbrenner did their job, they brought the best talent in the world to this Yankees team. It was Joe Torre's JOB to make them all mesh and bring a title. He failed, hes gone. Maybe he might have more lucky over at Shea, but that's in the future.

Melky, Ian Kennedy, Wang for Johan and maybe they might throw in Tori Hunter if Cashman throws in a couple million or prospects. It is a possible trade. The X-Factor. I already know the Red Sox are going to win another championship. Being a Yankee fan, it makes me sick to my stomach. Johan Santana, gift-wrapped, in pinstripes would be the only thing that would satisfy Steinbrenner's apetite. It's the Yankees, it's Steinbrenner, its Cashman. Throw out some money, Santana will come.

I am a new fan and have just recently started watching MLB religiously. I like the big "show-down" moments but when the Red Sox are up 10 runs on the Rockies I want to be able to appreciate the smaller battles between pitcher and batter. Specifically What do the signals mean, or are they differant for each team? How can I tell if the ball is a screwball, curve, fast etc, Should I watch the balls path mid air, where it is caught, or when it leaves the pitchers hand? How can I tell without relying on the announcers if it is a strike or not? Is there a way to visualize the strike zone? What is the catcher role in all this? Any other tips for watching the game?
- I watch on TV and havent been to a live game yet, maybe that will help.
