Shouldn't you be calling the Bosuxs the "Evil Empire". I personally think that Moose would stay but he has been terrrible for the last couple of years. Rivera would probably leave if Torre leaves. Now since Torre is now gone he might go somewhere else. Abreu is out of there and he should never ever been there if they didn't get rid of the Iron Chef (Sheffield). Pettite and Posada would probably stay. Remember that most of these players are over at least 34 years old (and not spring chickens). I think that it will be a rebuilding period because of such talent as Joba Chamberlain, Shelley Duncan, Wang and Cano they might be a while when they start winning back their division again. Please get rid of Farnsworth.

Well there's actually a new "Evil Empire" and its the Bosox. Theyve spent almost as much money buying a championship. Look at their payroll its up there.
You're right good riddance with A-rod. His disapperance act in the postseason hasnt been what they Yankees most needed from a big time BIG money player like him.
I'm most concerned about Posada. He really didn't get along with Girardi and I can see him bolting the Yanks for the Mets who need a catcher. La Duca Sucks big time.
Mariano will come back into the fold only because he wants to retire a Yankee. Pettite will play for the Yankees next year or retire from baseball which is possible. Mussina is still signed for another year and I can see him in the Rotation with the Youngsters.

Let A-Rod go he isn't a TEAM Player if he is not in the spot light then its not for him....If he was committed to helping the Yankees win a series then he would still be in pinstripes!! Let him go and play with himself for some other club don't need him.....It has been rumored that Joe Girardi has been named the new manager....With that i think Posada Rivera Pettite will stay they played together during the 1990's run...Mussiana needs to go to old not the pitcher he was...They are saying they are rebuilding keep it young...If that is the case they will have a DANGEROUS TEAM IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS.....THAT CAN WIN IT ALL....What they need is a good mix of veteran players and young players which i think they can achieve if they play their cards right

Mussina is under contract still, unless he retires. Rivera looks like he is staying. Posada I would expect to stay, and I think they will go after Pettite. They might do an about face on A Rod. Not like they don't have the money.

The Yankees will be fine - because their plan is to WIN. They build winners. This year, last year, every year. The team is under pressure to win the World Series, every year... like the Red Sox were in 2005 (and didn't), and like they will be next year -- and won't.
Arod goes, big deal. Reggie left, Winfield left, Mattingly left... Henderson left, Randy Johnson left, Clemens & Pettitte left (and came back).. Time marches on. The Yankees always re-load. And the Yankees will still be among the strongest teams in the AL next year, too.

I think it will start by hiring Joe Girardi as Manager, and finding a New 3rd Baseman, I think they'll manage but they won't be the same.
