He provided a lot of great memories for Clevelanders when he played for the Tribe. Just because he accepted a better job offer isn't any reason to hate the guy. In fact, most Clevelanders probably wouldn't mind having him back. The Sox fans cheered for Trot Nixon the other night, even though he now plays for the Indians. Why can't Clevelanders do the same?

How come the SEC acts like their the only area of America that knows how to play Football?

South Florida beat #17 Auburn in their home stadium.

Cal ran a track meet against the UT Vols.

Look I'm not saying the SEC isn't good just stop being so arrogant. Remember the Sugar Bowl when Georgia showed up acting like WVU was just going to allow themselves to be run over.

If teams like South Florida, Arizona State, Ohio, and B.C. finish undeafeated they have more legitimate claim to the national title then a 1 loss SEC team.

I love hockey, and I go to Ranger Games at Madison Square Garden.

Tell me your team, the arena, the fans' goal celebration, chants and cheers you have, etc.

Example:
When the Rangers score a goal, everybody leaps to their feet, and sings the goal song (which flashes on the scoreboard).

No matter who we are playing, a few times during every game, somebody whistles the old "Let's Go Band" and when they're done, everybody yells "Potvin Sucks" (hes never been forgiven, in nearly 30 years). At some point during the third period, during a TV time out, a guy in a certain section gets up and dances, and they put him on the scoreboard. If he's not there that night, everybody chants "We want Larry" his name is "Dancing Larry"

You have the option of building a team from scratch. Would you build a team to win the Stanley Cup this season (and suffer through five years of mediocrity), or build a team of young players and struggle (and ultimately win the Stanley Cup for the next subsequent seasons)? In other words, instant gratification or long term satisfaction?

Their stadium holds at least 9000 less now. Plus they just added more seats two or three years ago.

I just want to say how proud I am to be a native and have loved this team for 14 years now. I admit my attention wasn't always there for them, but, for some reason I was really drawn to tthem fro the season's start... I have been to about 12 games this year... Winning and Losing... But, never have I been more proud to say I am a Colorado Roclies Fan... They have provided a sense of "rolemodelship" throughout our sommunity, no DUI's, no Baby's Mama Drama, no cussing, hitting bike riders, nothing like that... Just sincere appriciation to play in Colorado for the Rockies. I think that out fans have been great... Kept composure and sp[irits high, no trash throwing or fights, or street chaos... I just love saying that I am from Colorado, and I am a Rockies Fan... I wish them the best of luck going into the send of this long played series, they have fought hard... and win or lose they deserve every moment and every opportunity that some from this great year of Old Fashioned, hard played ball

A few months ago I got into a debate with a co-worker over this issue, so I thought I would bring this question to the forum. My argument is that a growing team on the cusp of success needs a veteran (or two) with playoff experience to put them ove the top. To a player who has never been to the post-season, a veteran who has been there will give the proper guidance to said youngster. My co-worker disagrees, saying that the collective talent overcomes the overall lack of experience.

What does everyone think?

A first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a Boston Red Sox fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they were Red Sox fans, too.

Not really knowing what a Red Sox fan was, but wanting to be like their teacher, hands explode into the air. There is, however, one exception. A girl named Lucy has not gone along with the crowd.

The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different. "Because I'm not a Red Sox fan."

"Then," asks the teacher, "what are you?"

"Why I'm proud to be a Yankees fan.", boasts the little girl.

The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks Lucy why she is a Yankees fan.

"Well, My Dad and Mom are Yankees fans, and I'm a Yankees fan, too!"

The teacher is now angry. "That's no reason," she says loudly. "What if your mom was a moron, and your dad was a moron, What would you be then?"

A pause, and a smile. "Then," says Lucy, "I'd be a Red Sox fan."

I’m not an expert on baseball, but I heard that Dice-K is supposed to be the best pitcher for his generation in Japan and the most expensive Japanese baseball player who came to MLB ($100/5 years including negotiation fee.). After watching his pitching last night (and the whole season ERA4.4), I don’t think he is better than Hideo Nomo at his prime. Or am I missing something? (Although much better than Igawa) RedSox should've used $100M to get a Cy Young winner instead.

I'm sure that if a player only plays a certain amount of games before his first full season, he is still considered a rookie, but I'm not sure. 12 games? 15 games? Anyone? Anyone?

I Have a Dawes Accent mountain bike I can not get top gear, I have tried to adjust the derraileur with the hi and low screws and adjust the cable tenshion, the derraileur is sitting on a small notch (looks like it is there to do this) and the spring seems to be working.

could this be due to a worn component?
