I have to move my pool table to make room. I know that it contains slate, so are there any precautions I have to take when I move it to keep it from getting damaged?

thanks

Example: you're hitting striped balls, and you hit your last striped ball in and the black ball in one shot. Is that allowed?

I think you probably heard, Daryl Peach of England became WPC 2007 champion against Filipino superman, Roberto Gomez....
Daryl's win against Alcano and Bustamante are impressive for me but his win against Gomez was not.....
Daryl's victory was absolutely a fluke. At score 15-15 race to 17, gomez just miss the 5 ball but on the next turn Daryl miss the 9 which seems to be the chance for Gomez, unfortunately he miss it too. Daryl sunk the 9 to make it 16-15 and win the 32nd rack. As you might not know, Gomez just made so many mistakes. Gomez should be the Champion. Daryl is just lucky..

Gomez defeat was big upset to me and I know it may affect my mental game in Pool.

On the other hand, Daryl's victory in Pool might bring new boastfulness from England....Steve Davis will be envious....

Okay, so after a break in 8-ball when nothing goes in, the table is still open. Using APA rules are you allowed to hit a solid to combo a stripe? or can you only strike the color of the ball you are about to hit.

I want something nice, but I don't need the most expensive, super-fancy type. I am more interested in quality and durability than looks.

Johnny got me thinking about this. If you were to seek out formal instruction, would you go into it with the idea that you might have to break down your game and start from scratch, or do you just want someone to tweak a few things here and there, but overall not really change anything about the way that you play?
