I really don't like ESPN, mostly because the place is full of sportscasters that spend way to much time coming up with things like "Call me butter, cause I'm on a roll!". I hate that the coverage is always so impersonal, and they hate the SEC (I could be biased, but I'm an Auburn fan). They are still singing the praises of teams like USC and Michigan, and I don't even know how michigan managed to get ranked again.
I would much rather listen to a football game on the radio than watch it, and fortunately for me, I can get radio coverage for Auburn, Alabama and Georgia. I love to listen to larry Munson(only working part time after calling Georgia games for 30 or so years) and Eli Gould for Alabama because they are just EXCITED about Dawg and Tide (respectively) football. TV announcers just want to see a good game, but they don't care who wins.
Can't we do something to bring back the personal touch to TV announcing?
