nice article about Jeter partying in Miami and leaving two women upset at the front desk when they had to pay for parking until he took care of business (finally). Then the article says he did not even seem interested in the hordes of women around him while he was out clubbing. So how does it feel to know that your stud player is out partying while you sit here sniveling as a Yankee fan? http://www.nypost.com/seven/10162007/gossip/pagesix/pagesix.htm

I was watching the Colorado Rockies last night as they celebrated their LCS win over Arizona. A lot of the players wore goggles to protect their eyes as champagne was sprayed in the locker room. I haven't seen this happen until this year. Do you find goggles to be a good protective measure, or just plain odd - thoughts?

OK. I am trying to get a gun for the hubby for Christmas. We live in Alabama and he hunts in part woods to brush to open pastures. He wants a rifle for deer hunting. I have done a little research and have come up with either a 270 (don't know what brand) or a 30/06 (don't know what brand).

Can you please give me suggestions on what is the best gun or cheapest ammo or anything you can think of. Also brand recommendations are welcomed because I have no clue what I am doing!

He also has trouble with his shoulder and I don't know if "mega" kick would be good for him, but apparently guys don't really care, he just wants the gun and the kill.

Thanks!!!!
Jenni

While we all enjoy bashing Ohio State's schedule and wanting to rank Oklahoma so high. Who exactly has Oklahoma beaten this year?

Their two biggest wins were Texas and Missouri. Texas who got thrashed by K State and Missouri is the Big12 version of Purdue. Good thing for Oklahoma is that is as hard as it is going to get... at Ohio State has some games against real opponents left.

My team is 6:0 but the last 3 weeks have been completely lucky. Week 4 I won because my opponent had Smith starting at QB (I won by 2). Week 5 I won because my opponent had Addai starting (I won by 2). Week 6 I won because my opponent had Welker benched in favor of Vincent Jackson ( I won by 2 again). Take a look. This is insane...

My contention is that unless they improve that horrible pitching staff, the relief corps in particular, no manager, regardless of who he is, is gonna be able to turn them around. Any thoughts?

The tradition of the Indy 500 and Championship-level racing has been innovation and newness. Think about the rear-engine revolution in the 1960's, the Lotus turbines, the diesels back in the day, the John Barnard Chaparrals, etc....

.....it just seems kind of sad that top-level American open wheel racing is spec. Half of the fun, seeing the new cars every year, is gone.

What do you think? Will the innovation return to Indy- and Champ- car racing?

I've always said that attempting to regulate the economics of a sport by regulating its technology is doomed to failure. Look at NASCAR -- not that NASCAR is a failure by any stretch, but their teams spend the $$$ available to them, and always will. If you want to regulate budgets, well then regulate them sort of the way the NFL does the salary cap. If it's going to be a customer-car situation like CART was, then it's pretty easy to at least set the price a chassis, gearbox, and engine go for...

I still watch the postseason. I don't watch it as much I watch the Mets during the regular season, but I pick a team and root for them. I picked the D-Backs until they got eliminated. Now my team is the Indians. If they get eliminated I'm picking the Rockies. So far I haven't really been lucky. First the Mets, now the D-Backs, next the Indians, then the Rockies. They're all gona lose because I want them to win. Anyway, do you still watch the postseason when your team is gone from it?
