For me it has to be Jean Pierre Jarier. Rotton luck, wrong teams, wrong time. Could have been different if he had gone to ferrari in '74.

If you had a crystal ball ( ESPN ) and could foresee this NFL year, who is going to be this years Marquis Colston? I'd like to hear some opinions ( educated guesses ) on which rookies are going to surprise us.

I know they started in NYC but when Oakland moved to LA they changed their name. There is the New Jersey Nets in the NBA. Is this just another example of New York being screwed up?

She is an awesome player and a great role model for girls.
I watched her show and I liked her even more. Why are so many people so negative about her. She is just another one of God's children.

I'd personally say Baltimore. While New England is the obvious favorite to win it all, Baltimore has the most dominant defense in the NFL, an easy schedule early on, and many similarities with last year's Bears (except they don't have a black hole at QB) and with the 85 Bears. If they get through Monday's game at Cincy, they'll be 7-0 going into Pittsburgh in Week 9 on Monday Night after their bye (they definitely can beat the Jets, Rams, 49ers, Cardinals, Bills, and Browns). If they get through their Pittsburgh, Cincy, and Cleveland, they'll be 10-0 going into their toughest stretch (San Diego, New England, and Indy). If they get through that, they've got Miami and Seattle, which they should win to be 15-0. Then they've got Pittsburgh at home for the perfect season.

Their schedule is soft enough that they have a chance to do it and their offense has the talent to be one of the top 5 in the NFL.

Who do you think is most likely to have a perfect season?

A-Rod's Heroics Lift Yanks Past Mariners
By RONALD BLUM,AP

NEW YORK (AP) - Alex Rodriguez had a night befitting legends.

The Yankees planned to take him out of the starting lineup because of his sprained right ankle, but A-Rod talked his way in. Then he homered twice in an eight-run seventh inning to lead New York over Seattle 10-2 Wednesday night and help the Yankees open a three-game lead over the Mariners in the AL wild-card race.

Rodriguez arrived at Yankee Stadium limping following a collision with Seattle third baseman Adrian Beltre on Tuesday, and the team's medical staff sent him downtown for an MRI exam. Rodriguez pronounced himself "ready to roll" and was upset that he had to go for the scan.

About an hour before game time, Yankees manager Joe Torre said A-Rod likely would be limited to pinch-hitting duty. Rodriguez then tested his ankle with a few jogs in right field while the Mariners were finishing batting practice. He ran in foul territory toward the dugout, up a runway and into the Yankees' clubhouse.

"I've got to talk to the manager," he said with a determined look, never stopping as he went through the door.

He walked and popped out in his first two plate appearances against Jarrod Washburn (9-13). Then, with the Yankees trailing 2-1 in the seventh, Rodriguez hit a 3-2 fastball over the retired numbers behind the fence in left-center. Pinch-hitter Jorge Posada's bases-loaded walk off Sean Green put the Yankees ahead, and New York padded the margin on Johnny Damon's run-scoring grounder, Melky Cabrera's RBI single and Derek Jeter's two-run double.

Rodriguez then drove a 2-1 pitch from Brandon Morrow into the left-field seats for a two-run homer. He rounded the bases, received congratulations in the dugout and emerged for his second curtain call of the inning.

His first homer tied Mel Ott on the career list, and his second matched Ernie Banks and Eddie Mathews for 17th place at 512. Rodriguez, who leads the majors with 48 homers and 134 RBIs, had the 51st multihomer game of his career and became the first Yankees player to homer twice in an inning since Cliff Johnson on June 30, 1977, at Toronto.

Detroit's Magglio Ordonez and San Francisco's Bengie Molina also accomplished the feat this season.

This is an all-Russian semifinal match. Kuznetsova is currently ranked 4th, Chakvetadze 6th. Kuznetsova leads the head to head 2-0 but Chakvetadze has improved much since the last time they met in 2006.

For those who do not know what a Hot Stove is, it comes from the old days. When people would sit around a hot stove, usually a pot bellied stove, and warm their hands and body up.They would do this in Country stores, Train Stations, you got the idea, It would be the dead of winter, and the men would pass the time by talking baseball, similar to questions we ask today. Hence: Baseball Hot Stove.
