She is an awesome player and a great role model for girls.
I watched her show and I liked her even more. Why are so many people so negative about her. She is just another one of God's children.

She was upset that she lost. She didn't feel that she played well. And the reporters agreed. These are people who follow the tour! And she said Henin was a) more aggressive b) played harder c) hit better balls. The lucky shots comment was one sentence in an interview that otherwise criticized her own play and admitted that henin was better that match.

What should she say? That Henin is the better player? Why? She's an athlete. You don’t admit someone is better. EVER! You do that, you might as well mail it in.

Serena's only problem is that she is a black woman in a white girls game. And people hate her for being as good as she is without putting all of her energy and focus into it. If it isn't racism, then I want to hear the same people criticize Henin for her on-the-court antics.

If Serena decided to be the Roger Federer of the women's side, she could. But she isn't focused that way. Maybe this stupidity over her comments after the loss to Henin will tick her off enough to run off a grand slam or two.

Unpleasant and classless? What is wrong with you people? What was unpleasant or classless? She didn't call Henin any names. She didn't say that Henin sucked. She simply said she didn't play well and she wasn't happy about it. That's unpleasant and classless?! You people are hypocrites.

I'm no hater. I am all for the Williams sister and the United States. I have a question though. What attitudes/Diva/hype vibes are you people getting from Venus and Serena? I mean they don't talk on court because of course they're playing. the only time you hear them talk is after a match or before and it's usually about the match. I think the media has a lot to do with the way people view Serena and Venus. People are always scrutinizing Serena and Venus but they/you, only know them from what others--papers, websites, reporters, books, etc.-- say and write. I wonder how many of these people who constantly say Serena has an attitude, has actually met the Woman??? Not a one. Meet her, then if she has an attitude you were right. On the other hand keep you prejudice ideas of Venus and Serena to yourself because those ideas can't be backed up. Prejudice-An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts. A preconceived preference or idea. ( i am not using prejudice in the term of race)

One reason is because of the way she acts sometimes. I picked up on part of that during her press conference the other day after her loss when she made a comment about not wanting to do the press conference but knowing she had to or else she would be fined.

They hate her because her great grand parents were stolen from the continent of Africa and brought to America to work 24/7 so that somebody could live in comfort. Now this grand-daughter has the audacity to compete in an exclusive sport, using her unfair advantage of strength inherited from her parents, and earning in a week what most of the haters will never earn in a lifetime. That is enough to draw haters. When you say she is a bad loser, you miss the point. She just concentrates on her game. If she plays badly, then her opponent gets a chance to play good. So in her mind, she needs to always play good, so that the opponent does not get a chance. Simple, no?

I think that you are using the wrong word here - just like many of those who dislike Serena I am not a "hater." I simply don't like her arrogance, but I have nothing against her game. She sort of seems to see herself very high above the others, and that's the type of personality I don't like. We all have the right to like certain people, and dislike others, don't we? But, I do not hate anybody in this world! She is simply not my favorite!

People are intemidated by her sex appeal. Kornakovia made a living off her sex appeal, cause it sure wasn't her talent. Serena has the most natural ability outta any womans tennis player ever, and its fustrating to see her not live up to those talents. Just like any other big name athlete, with sucess, and endorsements, they tend to lose focus for a while. Then try to return to there earlier form. All athletes have should have a nobody can beat me attitude. Its competition on the highest level, and saying that the other player got in lucky shots, of my mistakes is just what it is. If I make a mistake and u capitalize on it, u lucked up, cause i phuked up!

I think most of the people just dislike, not hate, her. Her off-court attitude the most, especially, her defeat speech..........
Even the media is against her now~ See the link below.

Well, in the press conference after her loss she said that she made a lot of bad shots and her opponent made a lot of lucky ones. She's just a bad sportsman and no one likes that.

she cant just simple accept defeat and accept the truth that she is not the best one in the world..they are many that can beat her now..she's not young like used to be...she should realize that ..be humble like daveport...or even henin acccepted defeat when she unbelievably lost to bartoli...in wimbledon...i think the sister still think they are descriminated so they don't want to be downed by anybody..those era is over
