Venus lead the head to head 7-1. But the last time they played was like in 2003 or 2004.

everyone keeps talking about venus's record against justine being 7-1.....but all 8 of those matches were played before justine won her first grand slam in 2003.....
i think it is fair to assume that justine has gotten MUCH better since 2003...winning 5 more majors....while it is is very hard to say that venus hasnt gotten much better since 2003...in fact her game has probably declined since then..with all her injuries.
the reason for venus still being a great player is the fact that shes playing much smarter tennis instead of launching bombs all match long (like in her prime).....that being said...justine has been playing smart tennis her whole career and she'll be able to manage the match better than venus in the end...even though they're playing in NY
justine henin will win...wont be surprised if its straight sets....but im thinking venus will take the first set on pure adrenaline

If Venus plays like the played in the second and third set tie-break, Henin won't be able to match her intensity. Venus is smarter than Serena, and can adapt to other great players playing style better.
Tennis is like boxing, the styles of players make the match!

Venus Williams I think will overpower Justine Henin. I also think the home advantage and her desire to prove that she is still a great competitor will also give her the slight advantage. Justin hasn't really been pushed throughout this tournament and may not be prepared for the fight that she will endure against someone like Venus.

The girl is a big time clutch player and she likes playing good opponents. She'll over power Venus at her own game (speed and power)

It will be a really good match, but I think Venus will win. Her skill level is at the same level or a little worse than she was in 2003 and 2004, but I think the statistics will stay consistent.

Venus almost lost to jelena who is 0-7 against justine..for sure this time justine will do her best since looks forward to meet venus...let's see if she can beat the sisters on one slam like hingis did before in the peak of her game
