Hello there, here is my honest answer to your question-
Number 1 batsman of all time - Sir Donald Bradman
Number 1 batsman of our generation - Sachin Tendulkar
No.1 batsman based on recent form - Ricky Ponting & Kevin Pieterson
Sachin is still better than Ponting because he is more complete batsman then Ponting. Ponting has problems against good spinners like Kumble,Harbhajan,Murali & Kaneria.
Kevin Pieterson is an exciting player but he is new. You never know what will happen in the future.
Form is temporary but class is permanent
Sachin Tendulkar has class which makes him the 'Undisputed Champion' of our generation.
Sachin Tendulkar is the biggest match winner evr with more than 50 man of the match awards.
No one is like 'The Cricket God' - Sachin Tendulkar because there is only one.

If you compare batsmen who have played over a hundred test matches it Will have to be 1. Ponting (ave. 59, 29) 2. Kallis.(ave 55,09) 3 Tendulkar (ave 54,92)
In Odi's it will be 1. Kallis 2 Tedulkar. 3. Ponting.
Pietersen is still 'n baby and can not be compared. Although his test ave. is lowers with only 30 tests.
Don Bradman of Australia is by far the all time best with 'n test average of 99, 94.
The closest to him are two South-Africans; Barry Richards 72,57 and Graham Pollock 60, 97. They are followed by G Headly (WI) 60,83, E Sutcliffe (E) 60,73 and Ponting on 59,29.

Even though I have not seen Bradman play, but the articles
that are written about him and the stats indicate that he is the
best and no one else come close.
But if we are talking about modern Cricket, then there are many
like Sachin, Viv Richards, Ponting, Hayden, Miandad will be in
that list. All of these players, destroyed the opposition one time
or the other.
