I wouldn't make a trade like that. Not to take away from Kobe's unbelievable talent, but MJ seems as though he was a more complete player. You asked for scoring, he scored, you asked for a steal, he stole, you asked him to pass, he passed. MJ had a better supporting cast, but Kobe never passed much even when he had the dominant championship teams. People say Kobe needs a supporting cast, well so does Lebron James and he is on pace to pass Bryant when it is all said and done in many categories. Also imagine where MJ's stats would be if he hadn't retired the first time. The reason why I take MJ over Kobe is that, MJ led the Bulls to a league best 72-10 while Kobe got to a 67-15 mark. Shows even with Shaq and Kobe side by side, the Lakers were never as dominate as the Bulls were with MJ and Pippen. Oh and MJ=6 rings while Kobe= 3 rings. Plus MJ had the shoes and still does.

Well lets put the argument this way there would be no Kobe if there was no Jordan. Kobe's game mimics Jordan's game in every way except one 6 rings. Plus Jordan did it on both sides of the ball. Kobe doesnt play defense. He gambles. kobe is yet to be a complete player. He DOES NOT make other around him better. Last year is a prime example the lakers were 13 or 14 games over 500 without him when he came back they ended up 2 games over and barely made the playoffs. He in fact makes other worse around him. Look at Lamar Odoms numbers before Kobe and after. Same with Walton and Kwame. Until Kobe reachs the level of making others better he will always be viewed as a selfish player who only cares about himself and his stats and how he looks. Furthermore Kobe does have it in him to be the next MJ. Just look what he did in the FIBAS. He can play defense and pass. To me Kobe is one of the greatest disappoints ever. Could be so much more but refuses to utilize the team concept.

1st off Kobe has amazing talent and can dominate anytime.

The main thing about these two that makes them different, is the attitude, Kobe shows his emotions too much and complains in the media a lot, which turns people off. I'm saying Jordan's perfect....

With that said, I would trade Kobe for Jordan any day, Jordan has more talent, he can do everything Kobe can, but with more intensity, but the main reason, is Jordan's HEART, his drive, his will to win, he had the flu during the final game against the Jazz and hit the winning shot!!! That's a determined man right there....

Remember when he came back and lost to Orlando in the playoffs? He worked his butt off during the summer and came back the next season, and took over, he won another title that year, that's freakin' amazing!! Not only that, he won the title for the next 2 years after that. Man, I don't know if Kobe would be able to pull that off....

NO way Jordan knew how to pass remember when he passed to Steve Kerr in the playoffs.. never seen Kobe do that he wants the ball and usually comes through but he needs to realize its a team game.. stop complaining too if he wants a trade talk to Mitch in person don't talk crap on radio and TV then 2 days latter say you didn't mean that change your mind again and again and again till you wind up loosing in the 1st round again.. although Kobe is a great scorer Jordan did everything and anything to win games

Jordan plain and simple his stats are better and he made those around him better. It wasn't that he was loved by all his teammates but he demanded and got their respect and they all played hard for him. Kobe although an incredible player doesn't have that something extra in the leadership category. I don't think its even a close call. Also don't forget at times Jordan wasn't even getting as much money as he could have demanded because he understood it takes a team to win Kobe has drained the Lakers coffers.

Not if they threw in Bill Walton and Gail Goodrich. Jordan was something special that most people can't understand. He was the ultimate leader. Kobe - a leader ? Don't make me laugh.

jordan of course! jordan is a leader while kobe is just a 1 man team. team players win championships, not 1 man teams like kobe. although kobe is really good, jordan is still better overall

Never. MJ is the ultimate team player. He recruited Rodman (head case if there ever was one) vs Ko-me-me-me running off Shaq - and yes, he ran off Shaq. Who wants to win more - the guy who recruits a head case or the guy that wants the spotlight so bad as to run off one of the 50 Greatest? Enough said - rings count.
