This is an all-Russian semifinal match. Kuznetsova is currently ranked 4th, Chakvetadze 6th. Kuznetsova leads the head to head 2-0 but Chakvetadze has improved much since the last time they met in 2006.

Kuznetsova is 2004 US Open champion FYI.

I have to give the slight edge to Anna Chakvetadze. She has been playing great tennis this year and has surprised everyone with how fast she has moved up the ratings. She has an all around great game and I think she will win in straight sets. I predict her and Venus in the final with Venus winning the tournament in a very close match.

I picked Anna as my dark horse of the tournament so I'm going to stick with her. The deck is stacked against her but few thought she'd make it this far.

Neither she nor Kuznetsova have played the top talent yet but Chakvetadze has a tremendous amount of momentum going in. Unless her nerves get the best of her, I think she'll win!

While I'd like to see an American in the final of the US Open, I think Anna will meet Henin. And as much as I would root for Anna, I just don't know if I'd put money on an upset.

Keep it between the lines.

Anna Chakvetadze, for sure. She's a uprising player and has showed some great game during the US Open. I hope she's in final, but she will fail to either Henin or V. Williams...
