Many if not most Christian items and gifts fond in Christian bookstores or gift stores are Made in China. Even crosses. Many of these Chinese laborers probably have not really even been missioned to. They are buying possibly from the sweatshops or factories with questionable work conditions. Not "Christian" conditions at all or what Jesus would have prescribed of how workers should be treated.

The abuses of labor in China are widely known (Yes abuses, as in human rights abuses. Being made to work 12 hours or more, being beat, raped. Working around dangerous chemicals like lead. Widespread abuses) and some would question the ethics of paying people so little for and then making so much profit of them.

I think this is very wrong and hypocritical, how can it be Christian?

Last night I watch the gov. of Georgia and others praying to the God of Israel for rain. Some people were protesting "Seperation of Church and State". I understand their argument (weak at best), but my question is this: Would you be upset if it rained in Atlanta today?

It's sad when our children are more spiritually secure and mature than their adults. Most Catholics I know have no idea regarding their faith, leave after communion, wear their "faith" like a cultural badge, and basically don't know enough to have a good Christian conversation.

Relax, I'm not trying to flame. I just was thinking about this video that my grandparents have. It is a home video taken at their church of a preacher who died of a heart attack while preaching. In the video, the preacher got really into his sermon and ended up shouting and then falling over dead. A bunch of people crowded around him while the camera was rolling. About a minute later a white bird flew up from the center of the crowd (where the preacher lay dead) and ascended diagnally and flew out of camera view. No one saw any white bird while they were there but it's on the camera clear as day. That's how I know that god exists. Anyone else have anything that they think is proof?

You never see atheists on the street screaming about NOT believing in god.

I see no end of people claiming that atheists and the like cry out to the Judeo-Christian god when they exclaim "Oh my god!" but what is it exactly that draws them to that conclusion?

The _my_ part of the exclamation obviously denotes that the person saying it is refering to their god, whoever that may be, and not necessarily the deity who claims monopoly on the use of the 'god' title.

Of course this is all completely ignoring the fact that it can be meant to be entirely exclamatory and not at all imply that the person saying it even believes in deities.

So can we please stop with the claims that "all cry out to God", as well as that lame bear 'joke' that keeps cropping up that isn't funny?

'Twas the month before Christmas
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.

See the PC Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas - No one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.

It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a " Holiday ."
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!

CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.

As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was nowhere to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas;
it won't touch your ears.

What excites you about Thanksgiving, Merry Holiday and Happy New Year?

We see in Genesis Ch 1 vs 1 that God created the Heavens and the earth and that it was a perfect creation to match the One Who created it.

Vs 2 is interesting because the earth had "Become" void and wasted and that darkness was over the face of the DEEP.
What is this Deep that the bible refers to?
It also mentions that the Spirit of God brooded over the surface of the waters.
Where did this water come from?
What took place between Genesis Chapter 1 between verses one and two.
Something quite incredible since the earth changed from being perfect to becoming wasted and void.
Water seems to be one of the ways that God judges the earth, by covering it with it.
He said something interesting to Noah in Genesis.. that He wil not judge the earth AGAIN by water

Please open up in your sharing of this matter.
I am particularly interested in knowing whether the earth was once judged by water prior to the flood in Noah's time.

Ty in advance
In Christ

Yesterday Evening, a Jehova's Witness gentleman handed me a copy of a Watchtower and we spoke for a few minutes.
I told him I was Muslim and I think Jesus was great Prophet.
He responded that the problem with Muslims is that they serve two different Gods...the God Jehovah and Stae politics.
I told him that Islam is a way of life and our religion includes positive politics.
He replied that politics is of the devil and getting involved is against God's will.
Is he correct; does God wants us to serve him and ignore the politics in our daily lives?

I've read a lot of answer on here from people who say they are Christian that I don't agree with. I would like to know how many of you believe that once you are saved you can do anything and continue to be saved? What makes you believe this? Is it being taught at your church?

Unlike the Bible that has numerous archaeological support and references, the Book of Mormon cannot list any single shred of evidence to prove the truthfulness of Joseph Smith, Jr.'s revelation historically. They have not even unearth any single artifact to prove that Lamanites and Nephites do exist. They love to argue that Hittites, Jebusites, Ammonites, and other people groups in the Bible also do not exists. What they do not understand was the mention and existence of the Israelites is enough solid evidence already to prove these people groups do exists. No respectable historical society will back-up the claims of Joseph Smith, Jr in reference to the Book of Mormon. James White responded to a Mormon reader, "I invite anyone interested to read [William] Hamblin's own words, to see if there is 'ample evidence' provided. None exists.... all the feelings in the world will not make Mormonism historically true, nor rescue Joseph Smith from the verdict of the Bible and history.
