I'll answer with other questions:

If an Atheist was sitting on a doomed airliner, what would he/she have to lose by praying?

If an Atheist doesn't tell anybody that they pray, who would know?

There is an Atheists' prayer: Oh God, if you are there reveal yourself to me.

What have you got to lose? Give it a try!

Since there is a God, why don't you pray?

If there were no God we wouldn't be here... Your incredulity will not change God but He has The Power to change you! The point is that He gave you free will... One day you will understand. God never forces us to do anything or to accept Him but our natural being is always in search of Him.
Soooooo, since there is THE ONLY GOD, I pray to adore Him, to ask for His favours, to thank Him for everything, I pray for the others... I pray in order to reach Intimacy with God through Jesus, My Savior!
I pray He finds an open door in your heart!

So you're saying, "Since I don't believe in God, why do you pray?"???

Uh... right. Hey! Why are you eating that peanut butter sandwich? I hate peanut butter!
Get it?

I suspect that people who don't believe in god, don't pray either. I am atheist, and I hope for things and wish for things, but do not ASK for things, which is what praying is in my view.

Prove it.
There no proof the gods don't exist just like there is not proof that they do. Why are we so obessed with proving it? You either believe or you don't. What ever works for you.

There is a God. Just because you don't believe in Him, that doesn't mean that other people don't. That is just your opinion.
