We see in Genesis Ch 1 vs 1 that God created the Heavens and the earth and that it was a perfect creation to match the One Who created it.

Vs 2 is interesting because the earth had "Become" void and wasted and that darkness was over the face of the DEEP.
What is this Deep that the bible refers to?
It also mentions that the Spirit of God brooded over the surface of the waters.
Where did this water come from?
What took place between Genesis Chapter 1 between verses one and two.
Something quite incredible since the earth changed from being perfect to becoming wasted and void.
Water seems to be one of the ways that God judges the earth, by covering it with it.
He said something interesting to Noah in Genesis.. that He wil not judge the earth AGAIN by water

Please open up in your sharing of this matter.
I am particularly interested in knowing whether the earth was once judged by water prior to the flood in Noah's time.

Ty in advance
In Christ

There has been some indepth sharing on this matter regarding the verses 1 and 2 of Genesis Chapter 1. The main thought is that the " rebellion' of satan took place between these two verses. The bible shares that when the foundations of the earth was being laid that the angels of God rejoiced. There is not account of this happening when God created the earth during Adam's time. Its also interesting that God asked Adam and Eve to REplenish the earth. Not plenish it. Just some food for thought
If anyone wants some further reading on this very interesting topic check out this study of the Bible

God judged the earth with flood twice. The first time is there in Genesis 1:2. Then in Noah's time. In between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 there is a big "gap". God judged the earth in those days because the preadamistic age followed Satan in the rebellion, therefore God judged them together.
The third time God judge the earth will be with fire.

Gen. 1:1 In the beginnig God created the heavens and the earth. And then He created us. And we were all happy . And this continued for a long time. Maybe millions of year. Then satan one of the highest ranking of us decided he didn't have to follow God's laws. Well one third of us decided to go along with satans little rebellion. Gods puting down of satan's rebellion is called " the Katabole". After that God washed away all evedence of this time period by flooding the whole earth. The rain that lasted 40 days and 40 nights came from what is called in the bible as the firmament. It was a large band of moisture in the sky that encircled the earth. The water that flooded the earth in genesis is called the deep . I believe it is called the deep so that we would know it was the beginnig of our oceans after Some of the water evaporated back into the air. And yes there will be no more worldwide floods. God has told us all things in the bible . But I do agree that sometime you have to look pretty hard to find them. God hinted at these things that are being discussed here . Christ once said " I will utter things that have been hidden / secret since the "foundation" of the world ". If one looks up THAT word "foundation" in the Strong's Concordance you will discover that it is translated as a " putting down of / flicking off/ ending ,as in an overthrow attempt. This time period called the first earthage is also alluded to in the book of Job when God himself describes to Job an animal that can only be a dinosaur. When an animal that has a tail that is compared to a tree , well it sure isn't a hippo. I you have any questions email me. btw Blue Gene is mistaken.

First, no scientists have not come to realize that the entire earth was once covered in water. Second, it is doubtful that there is even enough water on the earth AND in the sky to cover the entire terra. It might be possible if you could tap the deep underground reservoirs, but then you would somehow have to get all that water evaporated so that it could rain down, which is more than improbable. Third, it seems quite likely that there were smaller, localized floods from which these various tales have been derived. Third, even at that size, there is no way the ark could have held two of EVERY species on earth. Any way you slice it, the story just can't be literally true.

What you are alluding to is referred to as the Gap Theory which is an explanation of a time period between the fall of Lucifer to his appearance in the Garden of Eden. The idea is that Lucifer and his third of the angels was cast out of Heaven (an eternal existence outside of the universal time line) to Earth (a temporal existence bound by time). Since Lucifer appeared to Eve through a creature in the Garden which would later become a serpent, the only time frame for his appearance on Earth would be after the Earth's creation and before the creation of Mankind. The Modified Gap Theory goes into the possibility of there being a previous life event on Earth which was corrupted by Satan and ended in judgment by God via a flood.

While I believe there must be a time alloted to the fall of Satan, it is not clear to me that it was between verses 1 and 2 of the first chapter of Genesis. It could also have been after God had created the universe and humanity (Adam and Eve) and perhaps that was why he became jealous of God and desired to take over (Isaiah 14:12-15)

I feel that the Gap Theory is very shaky theology and a bit of a stretch given the scriptures we do have. I used to hold to it rather strongly but only parts of it make sense to me now.

The Bible says that up until the time of the flood, that it never rained. See Gen 2:5 And no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground.
I don't think that verse would be there if there had been a previous flood.

1st verse: God created the heaven and the earth.

2nd verse: God destroyed the earth by flood by letting the firmament drop from above to earth.

3rd verse: God starts to rebuild the earth.

Because of satan’s fall / his rebellion against God, which happened in the first earth age, dispensation of time, eon, God destroyed all life from the earth.

We are now in the 2nd earth and heaven age. Noah's flood happened in this earth age. And, there will be a 3rd earth and heaven age, which follows the Millennium / The Lord’s Day.

Edit:

This is difficult to figure out from translations of the manuscripts ... the KJV, for example. The manuscripts, however, make the above statement true ... IMHO.

Yes, and it was the last.

Keep this in mind. God did not judge the EARTH, he judged humanity. The verses you are talking about refer to God's creative works before humanity was put on the planet. If you keep reading you'll see what land appeared.

Open-minded researchers have discovered that the Deluge was due to the splashing of a big glacier from Antartica into ocean. It was like putting a big ice cube into a glass filled with water, It happened due to the gravitational pull of a passing Nibiru, the comet-like planet of the Anunnaki (Anachim). The "Deep" was the planet Tiamat (Tehom in Hebrew). It was hit by the "winds" or moons of NIbiru and was broken into pieces. The scattered half became the "firmament" or rakiah (hammered-out bracelet) or the Asteroid Belt. The intact half became Gaia, the cleaved planet, our Earth. Nibiru comes around every 3,600 years. It is about to return anytime from now to 2207. The ancients called it the "Lord". The "Lord's Day" will have strong earthquakes and asteroid showers not much diffferent from visions of the end of the world. But, we shall survive and meet the Anunnaki once more.

God is describing what the earth looked like before God formed it. When adam and eve sinned was when the first judgement was. Why I say that is because the earth was cursed then. The earth was perfect before that sin. Plus child bearing would be cursed.
So to me the flood was the 2nd.

GOD has covered the world with water cause of all the evil that was being committed by his (GOD'S) people, GOD came to Noah, and told him to build an ark, atleast 300 cubits long, and 50 cubits high, GOD did this for a reason, and the reason was for the worlds good.
