Misery loves company.
Atheists are secure in their knowledge and have no need to get others to think like they do. Fundamentalists have unfounded beliefs so they try to get more to think like they do so they don't feel so insecure.

I think it is a prerequisite to be religious before you will rant in public about needing to find god and be saved.
But still, it isn't ALL religious people who do that, by any means.

You need to come to my town we have a guy on the corner who does just that
all day he yells about how people are being fooled by this so called god and that if you believe in god you are deceived and will lose all your money

If you want to see such atheists in action, come to the college campus where I work. They can give any street preacher a run for his money. Thankfully, they don't come around very often.

Atheists are too selfish to give a darn about other people. They would never risk public embarrassment to save another person.
