Because people pattern their whole lives based on a system of unproven, unproveable beliefs -- even to the point of killing those who disagree with them.

People who believe in God think it is so important that they will burn, flay, rack, torment and otherwise act like the good Xians they are, to save the heathens who are so short sighted as to follow a religion that teaches, "Be happy and live!"
Do the Gods argue about our existence? I think they have better things to do. So why can't we find something important to do, like feeding the hungry, and let God worry about whatsovever it is that Gods worry about?

If god does not exist, that makes religion, and the politics which it influences, rather ridiculous, doesn't it?
The fact that god is imaginary has serious ramifications for our entire society.
There are people killing themselves and others every single day, over the belief that "god" wanted them to do it.
That is important. And it is why so many people are finally speaking up and telling the truth.

Because some keep claiming the existance of God without being willing to provide solid evidence for the claim, and even expect other people to go with them although they have nothing solid to back them up.

I am a Christain, I do not think it is nessary to argue about God's existence, but I do think it is necessary to teach about God's existence, but not to force it. People are either going to believe or they're not, it's that simple.

Much more than God, but we're arguing for the meaning of our existence, were we created by some magic man in the sky, or evolution, you decide

Maybe if people had taken the time to argue with Bin Laden the world wouldn't be in quite the mess it is in today.

It is infinitely necessary, since the consequences are infinite. The Bible tells us if we don't have faith in Jesus Christ, we will pay the infinite consequence of eternity in Hell, whereas if we do put our faith in Jesus Christ, we will spend eternity with Him in Heaven.
Does this mean we must have faith because if we don't we go to Hell? No.
This SHOULD mean that since the consequences are infinite, it is as least WORTH looking into the claims. At that point when you've become open-minded/open-hearted enough will you find the truth through the study of the Bible. God shows everyone the truth who seeks it, but you must want to seek.

Beats me. I was raised to be a Christian and I have never renounced what I know to be so true. There seem to be a lot of atheists on R & S that just love to put down people that actually have a religiion and believe in something. I think they are just jealous. What kind of existence is it to believe that when you die you have no afterlife?

Because no one can prove anything one way or the other. What else would we argue about? All other arguments (religiously) spring from either the assumption of existence or the assumption of non-existence.
