Hmmm.... every answer on the first page has at least five thumbs down. Anyone else smell a multi account abuser?

Or were there five independent people all independently angry about atheists enjoying life?

The Bible is right when it says about God: “His invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable.” (Romans 1:20) Even though we cannot see God, our belief in his existence is no mere superstition. Daily, we deal with many things we cannot see, such as wind, electricity, magnetism, and the force of gravity. We know that they exist because we can observe the effects they produce. Similarly, the intricate design and the superb order in the universe distinctly testify to the existence of a grand creator.

All of you are lucky enough to have internet access, so I'm assuming you aren't starving or anything. I assume your basic needs are met.

So have you ever asked god to take away the blessings that he gives you and give them to, say, a child who is being abused by his parents? Or a starving mother in a third world country?

I know the bible says that god can provide infinite blessings, but his track record clearly shows that he chooses who to bless and who not to. So have you ever thought about asking god to quit blessing you and start blessing someone who is in more need than you are?

Jeffrey Dahmer repented, so have plenty of murderers. They'll be sitting across the table from you at the heavenly "all you can eat" buffet".

I on the other hand will be roommates with Gandhi and the Dali Lama in Hell. We're planning a party, lots of beer, lots of drunken philosophy and good times. Since most every Japanese person is going to Hell because they're Buddhist, I guess we'll be eating tons of the best sushi too!

Anyone want to come?

The prophet Habakkuk said of Jehovah: “My Holy One, you do not die.” (Habakkuk 1:12) In contrast, Jesus did die.
So HOW can Jesus Be God?

Yesterday i asked a sarcastic trolling question, pretending to be a christian argueing that Old Testament slavery is not a biblical difficulty.

Basically my argument was that the slavery that the jews practiced in the OT times was different than the slavery that was practiced in the american south in it's prime, so therefore it wasn't nearly as much of issue that skeptics try to make it.

The question:

Now, while i'm not sure if i am suprised that none of the answerers realized that it was a trolling question, I certainly am suprised that out of the 18 or so answerers, none were christians correcting my silly point.

Hello. My boyfriend and I have been going out for almost 3 years and we are very serious about our relationship. We've been considering marriage...the only thing is he isn't Catholic. I am a devout Christian; I have gone to Catholic school and high school and am very serious about my faith. I am very tolerant to other religious point of views as well, i simply love studying religions. The whole ordeal would be simpler if he had a faith but unfortunately he is agnostic. He has shown interest into converting, taking classes, and learning about my religion and my customs, only the process between conversion and marriage would take 3+ years. I am flattered at the offer but am afraid its to long of a time. What should we do?

I would rather just buy them tons of candy, and have the dress up and have to find the candy hidden throughout the house or something...

Atleast then I wont have to worry if some freak tried to kill them.

Is this a smart idea, or just over protection?

Jesus said in Matthew 16:28 "Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom."

I thought this was refering to the second coming because of the verse right above it which says "For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works."

So since verse 27 is talking about the second coming...why wouldn't verse 28?

And if it IS talking about the second coming, then why hasn't it happened yet?

My church is active in planting new churches helping the poor. Several churches and projects have been among groups with high numbers of illegal immigrants. We don't try to find out who is illegal, but we don't operate as a "sanctuary" either.

Sometimes that's not true perhaps. There are cases where flocks of people, like herds of sheep, will flock to a Jesus statue in Brazil where a trickle of red fluid "appears" to have appeared from the eyes of Jesus lol. Or the occasional "Christ image" might appear in someone's oatmeal.

For the most part though, I wonder if Christians don't feel cheated. If miracles were commonplace, with many witnessess in ancient times (the parting of the Red Sea, burning bushes, Christ coming back from the dead, etc. etc.) I would begin to wonder why it is that miracles (the type that is irrefutable as a miracle) never happen anymore -- and haven't happened for millenia.

I was at some kinda haunted house thing yesterday... And there was this quadraplegic with a body paralyzed from the neck down and he was like 20ish and his mom dressed him up a donatello from teenage mutant ninja turtles and he had like green camo paint on his face and he had like an assisted breathing machine attached to his wheelchair and i laughed so hard i fell on my slushie and i couldn't breathe for like a good minute or two. His body had like muscle atrophy and they got this clown to come over and wave at him and the clown was like dying of laughter. This loser who seriously, it was a 18+ haunted house thing to go to had this HUGE booth that said "MAGIC TRICKS" and i felt kinda sorry for him because seriously... I see him at toronto conventions with NO ONE looking at his stuff. But the clowns like chuckling and dude... He was all crooked and in a wheel chair dressed like DONATELLO!!! Am i a bad person? Would you have laughed too? seriously... jesus christ that was the funniest!!
