Yesterday i asked a sarcastic trolling question, pretending to be a christian argueing that Old Testament slavery is not a biblical difficulty.
Basically my argument was that the slavery that the jews practiced in the OT times was different than the slavery that was practiced in the american south in it's prime, so therefore it wasn't nearly as much of issue that skeptics try to make it.
The question:

Now, while i'm not sure if i am suprised that none of the answerers realized that it was a trolling question, I certainly am suprised that out of the 18 or so answerers, none were christians correcting my silly point.

And that is the case all too often on the R/S section: when a skeptic makes a spurious argument, other skeptics will correct him on it. The last thing atheists want are less intelligent atheists spouting out bad arguments. But many times when a christian offers a bad argument, other Christians don’t even bother touching it. It’s like they figure that since, in the end, the motive of the asker’s argument is to affirm Christ, it is not a important to correct their thinking.
What do you think about what I am saying here? Am I full of it?

wbusykat4: that's just the thing. I know that if I was a christian and i saw that question and felt that it was an atheist troller, i would call him on it. I would accuse them of framing the debate with a strawman fallacy.
