"Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors. (190) And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith. (191) But if they cease, Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful. (192) And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression and there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression. (193)"

Kindly explain what would be your intepretation.

I get the feeling that many Christians are voicing their disapproval of people questioning or attacking their religion.

I wonder if Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Deists, etc feel the same way?

Or do any atheists wish that Christians would get their own Answers section also, so they wouldn't keep insulting atheism and other religions?

I personally like it just the way it is. I like to answer criticism, I may not always be right, but I'm honest, and like to examine my facts if questioned.

It was amended in May of this year to allow the president of the US in the case of a declared National emergency (presidential call) including but not limited to Katrina like event, terrorism, etc. that all executive levels of the US will be ran by him and his apointees Congress gets to take a hike, literally. He can even call off a presidential election. I am just learning about this and dont want to jump to a ton of conclusions, however, with Bush itching for some sort of national emergency and with the civil unrest that will emerge when the North American Union comes to fruition, wouldnt it make sense he would place himself as dictator of america if he has carte blanche to do so? What are your thoughts? Any more info about this directive?

One would assume Religious people, at least here, would give me the same goody-two-shoes response, soooo... without further adieu.

You are in a room. It is dark, but not pitch black. There are two doors. The door on the Right leads to doing the right thing. there is no reward for this, only the satisfation of doing the right thing. The door on the left however, leads to the fufillment of greed. Your inner desires will be fufilled, and immense money and power will be yours. By choosing this door, MANY people will die, though not people you care about.

Now, In all honesty, which door would you choose.

Is there a double standard here? Christians can put up billboards which are blatant attempts to spread the delusion and manipulate vulnerable people with fear, but if I was to put up a billboard in an attempt free people of a cruel system that enslaves them, I would probably be lynched by a mob of fanatics.

9 "Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker,
to him who is but a potsherd among the potsherds on the ground.
Does the clay say to the potter,
'What are you making?'
Does your work say,
'He has no hands'?

10 Woe to him who says to his father,
'What have you begotten?'
or to his mother,
'What have you brought to birth?'

11 "This is what the LORD says—
the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker:
Concerning things to come,
do you question me about my children,
or give me orders about the work of my hands?

12 It is I who made the earth
and created mankind upon it.
My own hands stretched out the heavens;
I marshaled their starry hosts.
( Isaiah 45 )

A common misconception in Western societies is that Muslims are out to destroy your way of life.....This could not be further from the truth, this is completely a propaganda campaign in order to justify an oil-driven war.....
A prevalent misconception is that Islam `spread by the sword'. It should be clear by now that we must always distinguish between the Qur'an and Sunnah and the Muslims when it comes to determining what the Creator has asked of us. Allah has stated clearly in the Qur'an (translation),
[2:256] There is no compulsion in religion; truly the right way has become clearly distinct from error; therefore, whoever rejects Satan (and what he calls to) and believes in Allah, he indeed has laid hold on the firmest handhold, which shall not break off, and Allah is Hearing, Knowing.
Hence, it is impossible to accept Islam under duress. Even if misguided Muslims were to try to `force' Islam somehow on others, it would not be accepted by the Creator based on this.

Their gullibility knows no bounds provided the anti-religious propaganda they are hearing is what they are hearing is what they want to hear. You know the sort of thing - "the gospels were written hundreds of years after Jesus". Even a passing knowledge of the relevant scholarship would reveal that, and many other oft repeated assertions, to be untrue.
