Yes, and the entity that wants you to believe that is satan and its evil. If you were omnipotent, why would you demand that your creation worship you? You can just make them worship you, if that's what you want. Only when you are powerless, like dictators and tyrants where they demand that their subjects bow down to them, would want you to do that. Remember, if someone demands that you worship him, that someone is a tyrant and is powerless.
God on the other hand does not want your worship. He doesn't need anyone nor want anyone to worship him. He's just watching us and feels happy when we do well and disappointed when we don't do too well. God loves us and hopes that we love him too. God's not asking for worship, just love. Love cannot be compelled and it must be freely given.
