just wipe your brain of everything you know about religion, and don't worry about it.

A lot of people will try to tell you that questioning is not good. I am here to tell you keep questioning until you get the answers that you are looking for, Without questions we do not gain knowledge. If you can not find the answers to your questions in your religion. Then I suggest that you explore other religions. You can start by asking your preacher, pastor, priest etc the questions that you have. Don't let them tell you a line of crap either. If they can not or will not answer your questions then ask someone else at a different church, temple, etc. Once you have your questions answered with answers that you understand and respect then you will know what to do. Please do not let any one tell you that by questioning your religion you are showing a lack of faith or belief. This is not true.

do research on all religions at least the general points, look at historical sources too, so look at sites from each religion from people of that religion, and then the critics, and then look to see what makes most sense to you. i believe in god and no-one can disprove him, no matter what the athiests say, but i dont blame the atheists for beliving that, everyone has the right to beleive whatever feels true to them, so the key is to be true to yourself, dont let emotions drive you, but think logically and without any pre-judgements, and you shall find the truth, hopefully
and while youre in this state dont dispear or feel down, because its natural for humans to wonder and question so its ok, god knows this, dont be afraid to question anything

We all go through our ups and downs with religion. It's ok to question it, for you change over time. And with these changes you must adapt. The only think I can tell you about questioning religion, is to meditate and look to your inner self. Come up with one moral, one ethic, and try to summarize what your religious belief is in one sentence. simplify it. Simplicity is one of the most beneficial outcomes of religion. Following the path of religion isn't simple, but to have an ethic, moral or ideal, of a religion that you follow makes it at least easier to answer the question, "what is religion". For example, our ideal is harm none, do what thy will. A simple statement about the goodness in everyone. Meditate on it and don't give up. Look inside yourself and the answer's there. Good Luck to ya, if you have anymore questions please email us at theinnercoven@yahoogroups.com Hope we could help.

hOW ABOUT YOU STOP QUESTIONING, SEARCHING, AND EXPLORING THE MANY RELIGIONS THAT THERE ARE AND WHY DO YOU NOT JUST KNEEL DOWN IN A QUIET PLACE WITH OUT ANYBODY DISTURBING YOU AND TALK TO GOD IN PRAYER AND ASK HIM IF THERE IS A TRUE CHURCH OUT THERE AND WHICH ONE IS IT BUT AFTER YOU PRAY DO NOT QUICKLY GET UP, JUST STAY STILL AND WAIT FOR AN ANSWER BUT YOU HAVE Y TO DO THIS WITH A CONTRITE SPIRIT

THERE IS NO BETTER EXPÉRT THAN GOD TO TELL YOU WHICH RELIGION IS REALLY TRUE. IF YOU ASK SOMEBODY ELSE LIKE A PASTOR OR A PREACHER THEY ARE ONLY GOING TO KEEP CONFUSING U AND CONFUSING YOU AND YUO WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO KNOW THE REAL TRUTH. jUST DO THAT ONE SIMPLE THAT IS CALLED PRAYER AND U WILL GET YOUR ANSWER BUT IF YOU DONT THEN YOU DID NOT ASK WITH A TRUE INTENT JUST KEEP ASKING GOD, GOD DOES NOT ALWAYS GIVE THE ANSSERS AT THE FIRST ASKING OF SOMETHING. HE WANTS TO TEST YOU HOW HARD YOU REALLY TRY TO KNOW WHICH CHURCH IS TRUE AND WEHER TO GO. HE IS NOT GOING TO GIVE IT TO US EASY, HE WANTS TO SEE US TRIUMPH AND TO GET CLOSER THROUGH HIM THROUGH PRAYER AND THE MANY TESTS THAT HE GIVES US IN OUR DAILY LIVES.

WITHOUT THOSE LITTLE OR BIG TESTS IN LIFE WE WOULD NEVER ASK FOR HIS HELP

HAVENT YOU SEEN THAT WHEN A PERSON IS IN TROUBLE THE FIRST THING HE SAYS IS GOD SO HELP ME, HE GIVES US DOES TESTS SO THAT WE CAN COME TO HIM AND TRY TO REMEMBER HIM MORE, ASK FOR HIS HELP AND NOT ONLY DO THIS WHEN WE ARE IN TROUBLE, WE NEED TO PUT HIM IN ALL OF OUR DECISIONS THAT WE MAKE IN LIFE.

It is a difficult road but one worth traveling. People have tried to destroy the Bible for many centuries but their is great power in it. Here is what I suggest. Ask questions with an open mind and heart. It is very easy to give up on reading the Bible when it talks about humility and topics like love your neighbor as your self. When you die and face God any many don't believe this you will either be written in the lambs book of life or you won't. It doesn't matter if people don't believe in Jesus, however we all have an appointment with God when we die. I pray that you will understand that they rejected Jesus in his time on earth surely they continue to mock the one who created them. Pray

What are your questions exactly?

We can deal with this step by step.
Most people will start off with, Is there a God? And next, if there is a God, how can I know Him? Etc.

The ball is in your court. Your move.

I can see a little of your problem now. You are confused & discouraged. Jesus says, the truth shall set you free. ..
Just call upon the Name of the Lord ....

Jesus Christ says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes to the Father but by me."

Gee, I wonder what Linda M is doing here if she follows her own advice! lol

Consider this:
Religion is a way that people get a sense of belonging to a religion. If God promised the Holy Spirit to those who trust Him, then wouldn't that be the better way over 'religion'?

Seek God, then decide religion. Jesus didn't say that you have to be religious in order to be saved. He said to believe in God's Son and you will not be condemned. If that is religion, then so be it. BUT, if it is what people need to do in order to be saved, then it's not really religion, is it? It's doing what He said to do. Religion might be a word to describe it, but it's not really the focus.

Go to a quiet room alone, make you you have no distractions, keep calm and in good attitude. Begin to talk to Jesus by name, telling Him that you are a sinner and that you are sorry for your mistakes in life. Just talk to Him like you would anyone else, but with full respect. You will feel His presence there with you.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life."

Open up your mind to the possibilities and questions everything. Do a google search on atheism or go to the link below.

My advice is to study up on all religions and non religions and decide what is right for you.

Please..by all means question religion. The God of the Bible encourages us to do this very thing...

James 1:27
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

He encourages us to search the scriptures and to test the spirits and to seek earnestly after Him...

John 5:39
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Acts 17:11
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

1 John 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

The Kingdom of God on this earth is the Word of God in scripture...its the Book of Life and if you are in it..then your name is in it...not that we can see with our eyes by as God symbolically states. There is a connection between all these things. In the beginning was the Word, the Word is another name for Christ. It is through Him, by Him and for Him that all things were made. It is through Him that we live move and have our being. If we remain in Him through trust and obedience...the Word becomes His body as was made flesh and given for our consumption...His blood was shed as the wine symbolizes and His body was broken as the bread symbolizes...that bread is scripture...we are to consume it daily..."Give us this day..our daily bread..." To trust means to trust in the the atonement and to obey means to follow His precepts as given in scripture. If we remain in Him, He will remain in us and that is the sign between our God and His children for whom we belong.

Think of it this way...this life is temporary and you only have one shot at getting it right. Whatever faith system you seek had better be the right one..and yet...no other venue has been provided for in any other faith than the Way, the Truth and the Life as given through Jesus Christ. Question your faith. Doubt creates a weakness in us that only God can fill...so while you study, pray earnestly. I would begin at the beginning and come through the Word with prayer and devotion. If you are truely seeking Him...He is faithful and just to complete the good work He has begun in you. Love in Christ, ~J ~
