I get the feeling that many Christians are voicing their disapproval of people questioning or attacking their religion.
I wonder if Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Deists, etc feel the same way?
Or do any atheists wish that Christians would get their own Answers section also, so they wouldn't keep insulting atheism and other religions?
I personally like it just the way it is. I like to answer criticism, I may not always be right, but I'm honest, and like to examine my facts if questioned.

Atheists can be highly spiritual and thus belong on R&S.

there are discussions Forum out there, just for Atheist only and then your have Forums for Christians only and all the other religions.
The interesting thing is, that christians coming over to the Atheist forum to discuss or ask questions, and Atheist also are visiting Christian Forums.
I am an Atheist, and I am not interested in discussing "Atheism" with Atheist, because we have nothing to discuss.
I rather prefer to talk to religious people, to understand how they think, and to figure out how they mind and arguments work. Also I admit, that I always try to explain my point of view, why think its wrong to believe in god. Its useless to tell this to an fellow Atheist you see.
I also know, that Christians do the same to Atheist, to try to show them that their god does exist.
On those Forums, the discussion has a very high level, there are no insults like on here. Its actually just a few black sheep who use this issue to amuse themselves by insulting others.
I also see on here many different questions by Christians asking Atheist about how they think and why they think in such way.
You can not separate those two parties. Its like having a Forum for men and women only - which also exists on here (men health, etc.) - but you will see, that men are visiting women Forum and vice versa.
And the rule is > : if a question says : "For Christians only" or "for men only..." be sure, the other side will read the question with a lot of curiosity, and even answer the question, AND even answer the question sometimes better then the side who it is directed to.

Atheists and other religions? I have no problem discussing , arguing or fighting about my religion with another person of faith, but rude children and empty headed insults is not what I came here for so yeah I wish the so called atheist would find some where else to pat each other on the back.
It seems more fun to stay here and insult all. Not just Christians but anyone.
Their questions usually are too stupid to deserve comment, and never offer an idea to debate. The answers or ridiculous and insulting. They show no intelligence while claiming much.
It's like trying to make sense to a drug addict. Just can't do it. Not until they are off the drug.
The drug here being rude behavior.

I think Yahoo should introduce a program which rejects questions and answers that:
1. Have an excessive number of spelling and grammatical errors - say, more than 20. (Any question that spells "atheists" as "athiest" should automatically be rejected on a zero tolerance basis.)
2. Have been asked on this page more than 100 times in the past month.
3. Are simply copy and pastes from other websites (e.g. christiananswers.net, answersingenesis.org, harunyahya.com and anything by "Dr Dino". Same with more than 10 consecutive verses from the Bible, Koran, or one of the Hadiths) .
These criteria would dramatically increase the quality of the site.

I'm muslim and can't speak for anyone besides myself.
I don't mind them here.
I've seen some athiest and agnostics say some stuff aimed purely to p*ss people off. I've seen it come from all "religions" too.
I mean people of my religion........i consider myself a conservative, but i have a very open mind.....and they same things sometimes.......and i'm like why the hell did you just say that.
This is a forum...its an open discussion....why are you saying those things.

At least Hindus and Buddhists dont wish anyone to go away !!!
Hindus dont condemn atheists or non-believers to hell or curse them. Hindus had some sages/thinkers, who did not believe in the concept of a personal god...still they are revered by hindus. Buddhism is based on such hindu philosophies....hence refutes any personal god.

Well, I'm a christian, and I attack my own "religion", so where does that leave me?
Meh, don't go anywhere. People need to learn the fine art of the argument. Debating skills need to be sharpened.
Besides, it would be boring without everyone.

I think this is a beautiful section to point out the flaws in religious thinking. All of them are wrong so here they can learn and improve their way of thinking. As an Atheist I hope I can shed some light on their dark thoughts.
But first; be good be nice

I just kinda wish all the stupid people would leave.
It would raise the standards of both the questions AND answers if they did.
As it stands though... those who are stupid post the same crap all the time and those who aren't are forced to cater for those who are.
But then it is just like the real world in that respect.... and the stupid people won't leave there either.
We are doomed to be forever surrounded by stupid people.

The religious backlash I receive is expected and even encouraged. It's like leading a horse to water, then the horse flips out and bites your ankles. The only downside is deleted accounts.

Long practiced Christian Hypocrisy tells us that it is OK for Christians to attack science but not have their own beliefs attacks. I often wonder what their Gods think about this.
They can ask me to leave all they want but so long as they hang around and misrepresent, misinterpret and misquote science, then I'm gonna hang around here to defend it.
