Thumbs down and multiple accounts?

Question

Hmmm.... every answer on the first page has at least five thumbs down. Anyone else smell a multi account abuser?

Or were there five independent people all independently angry about atheists enjoying life?

I don't particularly care about the thumbs down, I just find it interesting that there seems to be someone abusing the system, and who their anger is directed against.

Has to be a multiple user that hates Atheists, not that many people are mad about others celebrating holidays.

I almost never got thumbs-down when I answered in the US Income Tax Category exclusively. Now that I answer in R&S, I get thumbs-down, and I get Q's and A's yanked even when there's no real violation. But my absolute favorite is when I answer a R&S Q with insight, thought, and valuable information, and some fundie answered "correctly", so gets the BA. It's as if SOME fundies (and I'm sure others) ask questions simply so someone else can 'back them up' with info on what they already believe, and that person gets the BA. I don't think that follows the spirit of Y!A. But, whatever, I'm here to meet people, help people, and occasionally find some answers myself. Thumbs-down has ceased to have meaning for me in the R&S category.

It depends on why people will down-thumb an answer. I down an answer because I disagree, I find the point of view wrong, or the answer is vulgar.

I will also down-thumb if there is bad spelling and grammer, all-caps and swearing since those things are the mark of someone not worth listening to.

I will downthumb answers I don't want to see again when I revisit the page.

I will only downthumb once.

I just checked your link. 43 people responded. Surely at least 5-10 also thumbed! (and yes, I did thumb down a few answers, and thumb up all the references to April 1st).

Oh from what I've seen (& have been falsely reported) nothing'd surprise me.

I've had a few nights I coped thumbs down so fast it seemed someone was a few minutes behind my in my questioning. IN some cases I got one with in 1 minute of answering.

Considered Stalking in some countries. But no way to prove it. Spooky & intimidating by some of us single gals.

Pathetic by all other acounts.

That was a bit over the top. I got six thumbs down for saying I enjoy holidays.

I do agree with another answer, it is not likely someone has 5 level 2 accounts. I suspect the fundies don't think we should have any fun and all holidays should be about their religion.

Could be both. Any answer to a question in this section that dose not praise god gets a thumbs down by default.

They do not want to entertain the fact the most atheists are naturally happy with their lives.

Logic deprivation I call it.

I think the reason give thumbs down because they don't agree with your answer. I got thumbs down before and I can careless. It could be 5 diferent people that gave you thumbs down.

And when I give someone the thumb, it is almost always up.
