how come they keep giving us thumbs down, answer with pejorative epithets and won't just accept the fact that faith comes from intellectual knowledge?

Dosn't it concern you that there is no real evidence for this theory? Like fossils and such?

A young Christian today told me I had my head on backwards. Of course, I am on vacation, so I just smiled at him. Of course it got me to thinking about things, and I don't remember the feng shui lady who arranged my house telling me that my head was on backwards. So , my question is, when I get home, should I call my feng shui lady and tell her to get her eyes checked?

I was listening to a Billy Graham sermon wherein he said that when Jesus was on the cross he was offered "gall and vinegar" when he said "I thirst". He went on to say that Jesus turned it down and said Jesus turned it down because the gall and vinegar could have acted as a pain killer (seriously) and that it was being offered as such...and that Jesus was not going to take any kind of "pain killer" while dying for us, he was going to do the job as it was intended. I was rather shocked to hear Billy Graham say this but I swear it is true. I have the sermon on video tape. I always thought the gall and vinegar was offered as a mockery to Jesus because in saying he was thirsty, he was offered vinegar and who would drink that? And gall is spit, so who would drink spit if thirsty. Because when Jesus was on the cross he was being mocked. People were screaming saying "you saved others, now save yourself" and so forth. Do you think what Billy Graham said is strange? I do.

I just had a family member tell me that I need to leave the LDS Church. When I asked why it is they felt that way, they responded:
"Well, no other church will recognize your baptism."

WHAT? How about this, o family member, I don't recognize your church! How does the fact that your church doesn't like me make my faith any less valid?

O, ye fundies with no undies, what maketh you think I need your approval to worship the way I choose?

I'm waiting for this, i'm all fired up...

I mean is it a reasonable way of belief for open-minded Christians...if compelling contrary evidence comes in then you would amend your beliefs accordingly wouldn't you?

you?" why did he say that it does? And this was after Jesus had lived and died and assended to heaven. Should protestants re-word their bibles to say NOT in various passages?

In the age of 15, I am still forced to go to church! I kept asking my parents why and they state "if you don't want to go to church, you can have your own life outside" and sometimes this reason "if you won't go with us to the church, all of your privileges are taken away" . And yes, they're angry... And then that night, I asked my mom why, she said "We have to visit the home of the lord at least once a week, in every sunday, we have to witness the sacrament of the eucharist"
.. and she also said that "When I was a child, I was frequently forced to go to church, and I really hated it, but overtime I understand and got used to it"

Even today, this sunday, the Lord's day, or the Sabbath day, even if we're (my siblings too) tired or I'm tired, or if I have a long homework, my parents always force us to go to church!

And I'm getting pissed off, I will definitely gather some people to burn their house when they're in there 60's or 70's of age.

honestly it's been going on for +5 yrs

O.k. this is a real question...I'm not trying to make a point or whatever, I really am wondering. So, IF evolution is true and we all evolved from little organizims or whatever, and we keep getting better and stuff then why are there still the "early" things around. Like little fish and sponges and things. Shouldn't they like, be dead because the strongest ones only survived? I hope this question makes sense, I'm not the best at putting words together, and please only answer if you have something real to say. Thanks.

Blind faith is put into religion why do we not question it so vigeriously when some of the things said in the bible are either appauling or rediculious. Are people scared of those who have more knowlege.

these past few mos. i have gotten to the point of asking what does god actually do in our lives? i've had pneumonia twice, my cat was lost and even though i begged god to bring her back to me he brought her back dead. i have tendonitis in my hand w/ which i work. three ppl w/ whom i attended church and cared for died. and i've had a major falling out w/ the pastor and have not been back for sometime now. life seems to keep getting worse and everytime i say it'll get better something worse happens. plus w/ no insurance the medical bills from my 5 days in the hosp. and 2 e.r. visits are starting to roll in and i can't even pay my current bills let alone almost $30,000 in med. bills. where is it that god finally steps in and helps? keep in mind until my cat died i had a close relationship w/ god, i have at this point given up on asking for help b/c everytime i do he takes someone i care about away or lets me get sick again. although god is there when does he get involved in the day 2 day

Why?

You say that you believe in Creationism because it's in the Bible, and you discredit it (maybe not you personally, but I've seen plenty of you guys say this) because it doesn't say that God created apes to turn into humans, and that he didn't make the universe in a big boom...well, back then there was very little (indeed, if any) science as we know it, so why even bother saying that? Do you have any other "proof" regarding Creationism, and do you have anything that busts evolution? But if you cannot answer the last two, at least, please, answer me the first question.

Deuternomy 18:10-11: "There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer."

That last one, necromancer...someone who communicates with the dead. It must be possible if there is a commandment against it. Why would God forbid something that can't be done?

If anti-Catholic propaganda accuses the Catholic Church of not letting people read the bible then why is it so-called "bible believing" Protestants restrict readership to the KJV version which didn't exist during the first 1600 years of Christendom? Would it be more accurate in saying Protestantism restricts reading of the bible?

The overwhelming evidence for evolution--which keeps growing daily --is isolating the young earthers into the status of the flat earthers.Surely it is more important to lead a good Christian life than it is to hold onto the myths of an ancient culture.
