Every day of the week you’ll find Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindu and Buddhist mingling here. Offering frindly smiles at each other as they go about fulfilling their personal needs. You’ll find people here from Japan, Viet Nam, Russia, Spain, Persia and most points between: God's white, brown and black children.

What is this wonderful place, you ask? It’s ‘Valley Produce’ in Van Nuys, California, a large independent grocery store catering to everyone, with imported foods and locally grown produce, kosher foods and weird food in cans and jars written in languages that I certainly can’t read.

What you seldom, if ever, see here are Fundamentalists or Orthodox Christians, Jews or Muslims. Most of the fundamentalist Christans buy groceries at the all-white Ralphs a few miles away and I have no idea where the fundamentalist Jews and Muslims shop. But you don't see them at Valley produce.

Take away the fundamentalists nutcases and the rest of us can co-exist pretty nicely, can't we

First off, hi! I'm 13, and so is my friend. She's a mormon, and I really want to give her a tarot card reading. I want to ask her parents first, but I just want to make sure they won't react all freaked out... I know a lot of people believe that tarot cards are 'evil' and I respect that, and I also don't want to make my friend feel uncomfortable. So how would you react?

I also don't want to ruin my relationship with her parents. They only recently started to like me and not hate me (I've known my friend since we were 4, and I was a real butt when I was little), and I don't want them to hate me again.

Why are extremely devout Christians who evangelize called "Bible thumpers?" When I think about it, I would think that it would be more appropriate to call non-believers who criticize Christianity "Bible thumpers," because if someone is going to thump something, it usually means they don't like that thing. For instance, if I started thumping my printer, you would probably think I either hated it or was really mad at it.

Thoughts? Comments?

Suppose that you come to know that a girl is raped tortured and murdered, and have the means to prevent it but you do not, Is it because your attitude by more reprehensible?.
So if the Judeo-Christian god and so powerful that everything you know and everything you can not see that avoids these atrocities, His attitude is really almost absurd as the offender to become a silent spectator?.
Do not say that God does not interfere in the actions of man nique is the famous free alberdrío according to the Bible because in the past the same God put in wars and other things, .

The Bible does not say that abortion is a sin. God commanded his followers to kill and rip open pregnant women (Numbers 31:17, Ezekiel 9:6, Hosea 13:16), and killed millions of pregnant women himself (Flood & Plagues). There are even Biblical instructions on how to abort the pregnancy of a woman who is suspected of being unfaithful (Numbers 5:12-31).

According to the Bible, man became a living soul when the BREATH of life was BREATHED into his nostrils (Genesis 2:7). Fetuses do NOT breathe through their nostrils until after BIRTH. In Biblical times, male babies were not counted as persons until they were a month old, and female babies were not counted at all (Numbers 3:15). The Bible also says that some would be better off if they had never been born (Ecclesiastes 6:3-5, Matthew 26:24). A woman can choose whether or not to believe the Bible when making her own personal decision, but it is not legal to use religion to make laws.
what do you say now?

i am not christian but i do not deny that Jesus was probabely an amazing person and think he had something to say.

I think that its an insulting to his memory to think that Jesus would agree to such a thing.

..WITHOUT using the 'Bible'. The Bible isn't proof, it's a book.

I just got this answer.

There is mountains of evidence for evolution. Please give me an example of one piece of proof that there is an intelligent designer.

"The theory of evolution is supported neither by the fossil record nor by genetic or biochemical data. On the contrary, evidence shows that different life forms on Earth appeared quite abruptly without any evolutionary ancestors and that their incredibly complex systems prove the existence of an "intelligent design."

I am a deist. I do believe that the universe and life began with intelligent design, but evolution then took over.

Come on my scientists here, please try to educate this man. I know it is likely he will choose to remain ignorant but please try.

I was taught to believe in Jesus and the Bible, but I just can't. I can believe some of it, but not all of it. So if I don't really really really believe deep in my heart that Jesus died for my sins, am I going to hell? From where I stand it's way too much to ask.

Some christian scientists believe they have found the location of God's kingdom in space. Brilliant light booms back and forth in a magnificent show in a certain location in Orion. This is all very true.

Christians, do you believe?

We share 99% of our DNA with apes. If that's completely meaningless, I would think DNA testing is meaningless.

After all this is the most documented event in human history. So much evidence exists for the numbers murdered, the amount of money spent on this "final solution" and the money generated for the Nazi government (mostly in seized property and buisnesses but in pounds of reclaimed gold teeth), that it has to be housed in several very large archives.
Yet christians will claim that these are false and that the numbers were either grossly exaggerated (the fact is that the numbers are quite a bit lower than the reality, it's just that without hard evidence, some of which was destroyed by the Nazi's just before the end of WWII, real researchers can't speculate) or falsified entirely.
Honestly, when faced with this kind of willfull ignorant (something they use every day when trying to rationalize their adherance to an outdated mythology) it's hard to reason with them.
So why is it that you christians (note I did'nt say ALL) deny the holocaust?
