After all this is the most documented event in human history. So much evidence exists for the numbers murdered, the amount of money spent on this "final solution" and the money generated for the Nazi government (mostly in seized property and buisnesses but in pounds of reclaimed gold teeth), that it has to be housed in several very large archives.
Yet christians will claim that these are false and that the numbers were either grossly exaggerated (the fact is that the numbers are quite a bit lower than the reality, it's just that without hard evidence, some of which was destroyed by the Nazi's just before the end of WWII, real researchers can't speculate) or falsified entirely.
Honestly, when faced with this kind of willfull ignorant (something they use every day when trying to rationalize their adherance to an outdated mythology) it's hard to reason with them.
So why is it that you christians (note I did'nt say ALL) deny the holocaust?

For those of you claiming never to have heard of a christian denying the holocaust, let me ask you another question; ever hear of the KKK? It's quite a large organization isn't it? And ALL of it's members deny the holocaust.
And they aren't the only ones of course.

Seth,
you've been duped. By the catholic church no less. Those so-called "quotes" were never spoken by Hitler. They were made up by the chucrh in order to distance themselves from him and the support they gave him.
And you've bought it, hook, line and sinker...

In response to the first answer, the Nazi's and Hitler were anything but Christian...

Hitler’s Views on Christianity: The Facts

Let's look at a few things before you decide Hitler was a Christian. Here are some quotes which show what Hitler really thought of Christianity from the people that were in his inner circle:

"Christianity is an invention of sick brains... The war will be over one day. I shall then consider that my life's final task will be to solve the religious problem." [Hitler’s Table Talk, p. 142-4]

"Christianity is the biggest lie the Jews ever told humanity."

-- Adolf Hitler, 13 December 1941.

"So it's not opportune to hurl ourselves now into a struggle with the Churches. The best thing is to let Christianity die a natural death," -- Adolf Hitler, 14 October 1941.

"When National Socialism has ruled long enough, it will no longer be possible to conceive of a form of life different from ours. In the long run, National Socialism and religion will no longer be able to exist together… The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. Bolshevism is Christianity's illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity." [Hitler's Table Talk, p. 6-7]

"Christianity is a rebellion against natural law, a protest against nature. Taken to its logical extreme, Christianity would mean the systematic cultivation of the human failure." [p. 51]

"Christianity, of course, has reached the peak of absurdity in this respect. And that's why one day its structure will collapse. Science has already impregnated humanity. Consequently, the more Christianity clings to its dogmas, the quicker it will decline." [Hitler's Table Talk, pp 58-62]

"Hitler usually concluded this historical speculation by remarking 'You see, it's been our misfortune to have the wrong religion. Why didn't we have the religion of the Japanese, who regard sacrifice for the Fatherland as the highest good? The Mohammedan religion too would have been much more compatible to us than Christianity. Why did it have to be Christianity with its meekness and flabbiness?'" [Speer, Albert, Inside the Third Reich, Bonanza Books, New York, p. 96]

"The reason why the ancient world was so pure, light and serene was that it knew nothing of the two great scourges: the pox and Christianity." [Table Talk, p. 75]

"The Jew who fraudulently introduced Christianity into the ancient world----in order to ruin it----re-opened the same breach in modern times, taking as his pretext the social question. Just as Saul became St. Paul, Mardochai has become Karl Marx." [p. 314]

I'm not aware of anyone with any credibility who claims to be a Christian and denies the holocaust. Are you thinking of anyone in particular?
It is a bit disturbing that while you have appealed to both clinical and anecdotal evidence about the holocaust, you accuse Christians of being "willfully ignorant" and go so far as to say that such is the modus operendi of the Christian faith.
I question whether you are actually looking for an answer, or just taking the opportunity to indulge in Christian-bashing. Nevertheless, as a Christian and a historian I will say that I doubt the accuracy of the statement that six million Jews died at the hands of the Nazis. The number six million was only what authorities could reasonably account for at the time--in all probability, the number was far higher. Not only that, many Christians, Gypsies, and physically or mentally impaired people joined suspected communists and political resistors in Hitler's death camps. The exact numbers will never be known.
How anyone can glibly connect this monstrous attrocity to Christianity is beyond me. And you say Christians are hard to reason with?

I am Christian and I absolutely believe that the Holocaust really did happen. I don't know of any Christians who deny that the Holocaust was real.

But what a lot of people don't know and what you might find interesting is that at the end of WW2 when all the numbers were added up, the numbers showed that just as many Natzi soldiers were killed as Jews. Now, I am NOT diminishing the suffering of the Jews which was horrific. But what I'm saying is that it appears that the Jews are still the apple of God's eye and that he did take His revenge. He killed just as many Natzis as they killed Jews. Now, it is true that those Natzis didn't suffer before their death like the Jews did but you can be sure they are suffering now in Hell.

I aren't any more waiting to talk to R&S, although Atheists, and diverse secularists, do no longer all agree among ourselves. ONe truth above, is partly maximum ideal: We share a skepticism regarding the Bible's GOd and about the price of religion. On many different issues, i'm particular we disagree. some individuals variety on how useful that is to communicate and comprehend the Bible. One woman in a gaggle I meet with, requested me why I care what the Bible says. i'm convinced that some individuals are Republican and some Democrat. some individuals might want to also be specialist-existence. there is no logical reason why an atheist would no longer be specialist-existence, anti-gay or regardless of else. Christians also variety, and additionally they share an excellent style of issues. Like maximum contrasts between believers and unbelievers, i trust this one is beside the point. the challenge is the info for or in competition to propositions that non secular individuals espouse and the info for or in competition to propositions that secularists espouse. a lot previous that too oftentimes strays into ad hominem.

Where are your facts? I've never heard a Christian deny the holocaust! Where is this documented? Who took a poll, in regard to Christians, about this? I think this sounds like just another 'thing' to throw at Christians.

As far as I know, Christians in general don't deny the Holocaust. Granted, there probably are some that do. But I think most of them are extremist subgroups like the KKK.
