"If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes. But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion cannot be disproved, it is an intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to doubt it, I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense. If, however, the existence of such a teapot were affirmed in ancient books, taught as the sacred truth every Sunday, and instilled into the minds of children at school, hesitation to believe in its existence would become a mark of eccentricity and entitle the doubter to the attentions of the psychiatrist in an enlightened age or of the Inquisitor in an earlier time." - Bertrand Russell

Everyone's life is a set a circumstances. So many different factors determine what kind of person you are. Such as you may get certain characteristics from your parents or siblings or even your grandparents. If your parents were, are, or raised you christian there's a good chance you will become a christian. And if you are taught this as you grow up it's hard to question these beliefs. Think if you had happened to be born in a differnet society or culture. And you had never been taught about christianity. There's a good chance you wouldn't ever become a christian. Now would you want people to say that based on that you are going to suffer for eternity. There are many religions around the world, you can't just assume that yours is right because you happened to become part of that religion. The beliefs and stories are similar if not almost the exact same as some of the stories in other religions. You can't just say this is the word of god cause really that would be a huge claim. Have some proof at least, and until you do it's not wrong for us to question it.

And you can't just say this is the word of god, or you don't understand cause you don't have faith. When you make these claims based on nothing but your faith or our lack there of it just shows how brainwashed you are. My favorite is when atheists are called the tools of the devil or spreaders of satan's lies. For one we don't even believe in the "devils" exsistence. So this means nothing to us. Please just try and be open minded. Thanks.
Peace.

You mean how all religions are based on mythology. If so then yes you are correct. Strange really in ancient times everyone worshiped Zeus and now we do not. Modern day religions are just the same; give it time, and soon it to will be a myth

So, how old and disused must a fact be before it is relegated to "legend"...
And how ancient must a legend be, before it dissolves into a "myth"?
You are welcome to your opinion, of course...but you do realize that that is all it is...your OPINION??

You're "into" science, you ought to know that a fact does not need you to believe it for it to still be a fact.
Just because you don't believe in a Creator, doesn't mean that there isn't One...

Most of my worldview was "built up" before I became a Christian. So I wouldn't agree with your statement.

I know I believe in God.

You DO realize you've misspelled BUILT, right?

You don't know the difference between Mythology and Christianity, do you?

You don't know how to show any respect for those who have different beliefs.
You're prejudiced.

Blessings to you.
Hopefully you will grow up soon.

What you HAVE proven is that some atheists can't spell.
So much for the claims that all atheists are literate.
