these past few mos. i have gotten to the point of asking what does god actually do in our lives? i've had pneumonia twice, my cat was lost and even though i begged god to bring her back to me he brought her back dead. i have tendonitis in my hand w/ which i work. three ppl w/ whom i attended church and cared for died. and i've had a major falling out w/ the pastor and have not been back for sometime now. life seems to keep getting worse and everytime i say it'll get better something worse happens. plus w/ no insurance the medical bills from my 5 days in the hosp. and 2 e.r. visits are starting to roll in and i can't even pay my current bills let alone almost $30,000 in med. bills. where is it that god finally steps in and helps? keep in mind until my cat died i had a close relationship w/ god, i have at this point given up on asking for help b/c everytime i do he takes someone i care about away or lets me get sick again. although god is there when does he get involved in the day 2 day

god created everything, yes god gave humans free will, yes god created lucifer, yes. this is where i go either god is heartless to some extent or the bible lies it says that angels were not given freewill therefore according to the bible god predestined lucifer to go to hell and take others w/ him which shows not the compassionate one taught in sunday school or church. i personally prefer to think maybe god wants his children to be w/ him like the bible later on states. but we can't have it both ways so either the bible lied when it said god didn't give angels frewill or he is heartless and really only wants select ppl to come to him. which do you prefer?

as to my tendonitis i have it b/c of work it is being filed as workers comp. no there was nothing i could have done it was a sudden onset.
my med bills no one will give me coverage for a pacemaker which is most of my bills b/c of it being a preexisting cond. of course it was i was born w/ it. and no med from work until my 1 yr anniversry at which point still won't cover my pacemaker and as for state aid no kids they pretty much told me the last 3 times i filed once i had kids come back and they'll help. which is one of the medical things i am concerned w/ but choose to ignore due to no insurance. and as for my faith i was walking where he wanted me to walk talking w/ him daily for hours and doing what he asked of me to do then kitty. now no more, i begged, pleaded and even told him i needed her and he paid me no mind.

As I read through the answers I could understand why none of them really brought you an answer..

When you go through a garden of Gethsemane like you are going through you need someone to be with you that is strong in spirit...In the Bible they had the older people that had wisdom to help the younger ones to make it easier for them to go thru trials, tribulations, and afflictions.
It plainly tells us that in this world you shall suffer tribulation, afflictions, and persecutions.
Matthew 13:18-23 tells us as soon as the word is sown in your heart, the devil comes to steal the word...he is the one that is making your life miserable. He comes to steal from you and cause you to lose faith in your Lord.

You desperately need a person to be your friend. Yes Jesus is but I am asking God to send you a person to help you. It sounds like your pastor is not.

Find another church, one that has an anointed music and preaching. Call in to the 700 club and have them pray with you over the phone to help you through this crisis.

The devil is trying to take you out..you are in a spiritual battle for your soul. If you gain the whole world and lose your soul what shall it profit you. Do not listen to the mockers that say there is no God...Every knee shall bow before the lord...and that includes theirs...
You are closer to the Lord then you realize too , and you were making the devil mad so he's trying to get you to give up.
but he is the father of lies.

HE shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in ALL of thy ways....You are in the hand of God and no man can pluck you out of his hand....you are hidden in the fold of his garment.. You stick with Jesus as he is the dearest friend you will ever have...When you can't believe, I will believe for you....lets look for a change for you...

God is moved by your heartfelt tears....he collects them in a bottle...he hears your prayers....you are valuable to God a precious jewel in his crown....your gifts and talents are to be used for the Lord..Rise and be healed and strengthened..in
JESUS NAME!

So you've gone from having a close relationship with God, to blaming him/her for your problems?
Yes, you have had some bad breaks, but take a step back and look at what you could have done to remedy these problems before they started.
First, what is causing the Tendonitis. Is it the way you are working with your hands, or something else you are doing outside of work? Could it have been avoided?
Second, Not having health insurance and getting sick is horrifying, but if you do not have insurance and cannot get it from your employer, most states do offer assistance. Have you looked into this?
Third, People and pets die it is the way things work. If you really did care for these people, you should be happy that they are in a better place. Yes, we miss those who have passed, but do you think they would want you blaming God for their passing?
I don't mean to sound insincere, you have had a lot put on your plate. But I am a firm believer in "God never gives us more than we can handle." and "God helps those who help themselves."
Keep praying, or start praying, for guidance and when you get through all this you will be stronger for it.

God cannot do good or bad things to you. God is only an idea, not a real being. You could have asked Santa Claus the same help and you would have gotten back the same silence.

You know what it means to delude oneself? It means believing that if you talk to an image, a portrait, a statue, there is actually a person in it or around it that hears you.

Unfortunately magic doesn't exist. It violates the laws of nature. If magic existed and prayers were answered we would all have what we want that way. First we'd ask to cure us miraculously -- wouldn't that be nice. No hospital bills, no medications to take, no insurance premiums. Couldn't God just grant that? Guess what would happen if he actually existed and did that. The next thing we would ask if we can grant us a well-paying job, wouldn't you? Now I'm healthy and well to do. Isn't that great? Wouldn't you think that religion would benefit tremendously if just these two things actually happened when we ask? What are they for God, peanuts?

But wait. Are we happy with health and wealth? Is that all we want? Well, it would really make us happy if the right person would come along and swept us off our feet. A great, loving person, full of understanding, careful to give us all the best and retreat when we feel we got enough! Could God do that for us? Sure he could. He is God! Well, if I was granted health, wealth and romance, I probably would ask God if there is any chance for me an my partner not to have to work at all. Can he do that too for us? After all, When you got health you are full of energy, if you got money, you want to enjoy life and share the enjoyment with the person you love and are loved back, what would make it just PERFECT, oh God, please, let us both have free TIME! That's it.

Shouldn't that be the reason for the existence of God? And shouldn't every human being deserve that? And if each one of us on earth got these gifts, if everyone praised the Lord for receiving this kind of happiness (health, wealth, love and time) would there be any wars, any envy, any desire to want more than absolute happiness?

Of course, we are forgetting that if God gave everyone these gifts, who would have show up for work? Who would want to run a business? Who plays the waiter for fun, while the rest of the world wants to eat out?

Faith is the destruction of reason. Faith is the emotion that wants to be more important than reason, so it leads one to one delusion after the other.

Sounds like you have had your faith tested by satan. God allows satan to reign on earth for now. It is part of their struggle. While God does answer prayers, sometimes we just don't see what he is doing on our behalf. The book of James tells us that all good things come from above. You may feel God has abandoned you. But actually we are usually the one who abandons him. When the apostles were on the boat and the storms were wrecking havoc, they lost their faith because all looked lost. Yet Jesus came and calmed the waters, and chastised them for having little faith.

Things in life that God allows to happen to us can be charaterized as teaching sessions. One of the lessons that most people fail to realize is that the more faithful we are to God, the more crap satan throws at us. Satan doesn't attack ppl who already serve his desires. What would be the point? They are already on his side.

Also God worries with our souls and not our monitary gains. When Jesus walked the earth, he was a poor man. And he told us all to be like he was. He tried to set an example to teach us that worldly things are of the world and are not his primary concern.

As for why people die: Do you think they are happier dealing with all these worldly issues that you are going through, or do you think they are happier in His Presence?

I could go on forever. The world we live in is full of evil. God protects your soul.

As for your futher details. Lucifer was an angel. He did not have free will. Yet he bucked God. He was destined to serve God. Yet he decided he wanted free will all on his own. God does not preordain anything. He knows all possibilities. Satan's sin was attaining his own free will which was against God's law concerning Angels. Seek out the wisdom of understanding and God will provide all the answers you need. But you need to listen. That is part of our free will. Cars do not have free will, but ocasionally the break down. We don't want them to break down. But it happens.

God care for every aspect of our lives. he will intervene in every area we allow Him too. Just remember this is a test, this is only a test. If we never had a reason to trust Him and use our faith that He is in control and will bring us through, what good would it be. Keep your faith. Just like a muscle it only gets bigger and stronger if you exercise it. He never brings us to it, without bringing us through it. It may feel like your going through hell alone, but you are not alone and the key is to "go through", not stop. Find a new church, maybe try a non-denominational. God has prepared the seasons to change don't be afraid of something new, as long as it lines up with His word.

1-723,

I have chills from reading your letter. I've just had a pet that I love die. Also I prayed for her. For a few days it really tested my faith. People who don't love their pets as much as we do might not understand. What made it worse is that we took her to her vet. He said he might be able to help her. He wouldn't try because we didn't have credit cards.

I actually never was so angry at another person in my whole life. Probally if I could of burned down his house with no-one in it, I would of. At least it felt good at the time to think that. Mind you I'm 50yrs. old, and have never had a thought like that in my life.

I've been a Christian most of my life. What helped me was to remember that I have to forgive him. I started praying for God to help me forgive him. Then I started praying for him to do good some day for others in this situation.

Remember God is always in control. You have an enemy who sees you are doing good in Gods eyes. He wants to take away your light and replace it with his darkness.

Your kitty is in paradise. Jesus is holding him. Remember that. They are Gods creatures. He has all kinds of other kittens up there. He listens to your prayers. Lean on God because He loves you.

Run the good race. Satan will get so bored he'll flee from you. This is a temporary life. Joy is around the corner in abundance. I send you Christian love. Read Job when you are up to it. God is in front of you, and behind you, he'll hold you up.

you turned from God because of your cat? i'm sorry, i just can't fathom that...too many people think of God as some kind of cosmic ATM, fairy godfather, and bodyguard/nanny all rolled into one...i'm sorry, but life doesn't work that way. God is always there, trying to give you the strength and courage to persevere and overcome...

people get sick, people die. people have disagreements with each other, pets disappear, and they die also. God is not responsible for your lack of health coverage...that falls to your employer, who may be too stingy (or too close to the margin) to offer decent coverage, and to our elected representatives who are all for throwing hundreds of billions of dollars away on an unnecessary war and pork barrel projects, but could care less about health care for their constituents.

i've been there, and i know that it's not easy...but one thing i've learned is that if i trust Him, and do all i can to 'keep on keeping on', things have a way of working out.

You have a lot of stress in your life....and have been through a lot of things....but God has never left you. I do believe He sees something in you of value and wants it to be shown to the world. Have you ever considered that your reaction to the things happening are what people see....and will reflect what you think of God? You are a walking ambassedor for the King of Kings. You said you had a close relationship with God....so you do believe in Him....right? He will NEVER let something happen to you that He thinks you cannot handle with His help. You may not SEE all the reasons...but He DOES and needs you to trust Him.
Here are a couple of promises He is sending your way.

" There hath NO TEMPTATION taken you but such as is common to man: but God is FAITHFUL, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape that ye may be able to bear it." 1 Cor. 10:13

" I will NEVER leave thee nor forsake thee." Heb. 13:5

" In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He SHALL direct thy paths." Prov. 3:6

I will pray for you to see where God has blessed you and to show Himself to you in a mighty way!
