All religions are heretical to the one religion looking out.

Heretics are people who do not believe, religiously, as you do. therefore all people and religions who do not believe as you do are heretical.

Heresy is when someone teaches error within the Church. More specifically error which brings the nature or character of God or his work into question.

For example it is heretical to teach that Jesus was somehow less than God.

The writings of the Early Church Fathers are in the public domain and you can read examples of them. A fine example would be the documents written regarding Arius and his beliefs.

If it goes against biblical teaching, it is heresy.

That being said, what I believe the bible to say about God and Jesus would be considered heresy by most of the common denominations of today. But I will believe my bible over the doctrines of men any day of the week!

Heresies are those liturgical beliefs which contradict the Bible.

Like Roman Catholicism.

1 Timothy 4
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Yes, heretics are those who, through ignorance or pride pick and choose those doctrines of Christ they like and obey those while disregarding the remainder of his teachings. Christ did form a church Peter was called by Christ to be the head of it. but because of so many heretics and outright apostates the church fell apart after the death of the apostles and had to be restored through Joesph Smith in 1830.

There is one true God, the God of Abraham. Trinity is the key. If you do not believe in Trinity, you invest on false belief. : )
