I read an editorial which stated that any form of birth control is abortion because it's preventing all the babies which could potentially be born. In essence, this person was saying that life begins before conception ?? Are there really many people who honestly believe this or is it an extreme viewpoint?

Note: I am not necessarily talking about the morning after pill or RU 486. I'm talking about birth control in general.

If we can require pharmacists to go against their religious beliefs and dispense certain drugs, shouldn't we also require ministers to perform same-sex marriages in jurisdictions where same-sex marriage is legal?

Sound just like God or Jesus? Are their voices so much alike it is hard to tell them apart?

I'm an Atheist, so this is an academic question on my part, but I feel that we all have regrets that we would like the chance to redress. So, what do you think? Suppose God gave you a chance to change one thing in you life---what would you do?

For me, I would change the fact that I haven't been a part of my daughter's life, and now it's probably too late. This has been my biggest singular failure in life.

My parents aren't always arguing but they argue over the dumbest little things. My dad is an alcoholic, my mom is a little controlling, and both are stubborn as hell. I didn't think it was bothering me until a week ago when I got drunk and started punching the ground and crying over it. I really don't want them to get a divorce, especially because I am Catholic and I don't believe in it. So what should/ can I do to help the situation. Help please. This is starting to take its toll on me.

I was wondering what you perception is of other branches of Christianity do you think that they are wrong and will go to hell? Or do you think they are fine and just taking a different path up the mountain of salvation?

I know a lot of people fall for it, but there are two Abrahamic religions that make this claim. They both can't be right, and they both claim the other is wrong. Neither accepts that the other religions of the world are could possibly be as valid as they are. Neither can provide proof of their claims. So, essentially, aren't religions like these really just promoting their brand over others through false advertising?

I am a very, what you might call avid, atheist. When anyone brings up religion or anything that has to do with it, I have to try so so hard not to say anything about how darn stupid it all is. My grandma is Catholic and says I should respect other's beliefs. Do I respect killing people? No. So I literally cannot respect these beliefs because I know better. What can I do to keep my cool?

I was brought up catholic (not a super religious family, but still took part in the rituals)... however- after returning to the church for my teenage years I decided that it wasn't for me and I'm not really sure of what I believe in... I do think that there is a god, I'm just not sure abt the details for now. Well, my husband was brought up in a baptist family- actually his dad is a baptist pastor.
I want my daughter to go to church b/c I think that it is an important thing for her to experience and to learn good values.
Well my dilema is I don't agree w/ the baptist church on a lot of things so baptist church is out for our daughter to go to, but we don't want her going to catholic church either. I need to find a happy medium, any suggestions

You explain the situation, apologize and you are still attacked by people. HEY, CAN YOU ALL GROW UP AND LET IT GO????

I am fed up with the petty crap here, especially by people who claim to share my faith! You don't *obviously* because you cannot be kind, patient, tolerant or even forgiving of YOUR OWN PEOPLE! What is wrong with you?

So, the question is... do you really practice as you preach? Cuz I don't think so!

Is it possible we can all unite as one and forget all differences? Is it possible we can forget everything for a while, and remember that we will all die one day eventually... and that our time on earth should be peaceful and serene, so that when we pass others remember us for our kind heart.

I agree there is a lot of intolerance and crime out there.. a lot of differences in race/religion etc... BUT...

Today I was in the park with some children I was babysitting. They are all about 3-8, and there are 3 Muslim children and 4 non-Muslim children. It was so nice to see them play together and enjoy each others company..

I know we are not children, and I know complete and eternal unity and tolerance is a fantasy... but do you agree that before anything we are human.. we all hurt and all bleed.

How about we live and let live.. stop generalizing.. and accept the individuals rather than people who are disgracing Islams and other religions names?

Peace&Love
