Since "faith" is to believe in something without evidence, or even in the face of conflicting evidence..... isn't depositing one's faith in something or someone exactly the same as believing in it?
faith = belief.
So, it actually doesn't matter where we deposit our faith in, doing so, is believing. Christians always say "you gotta have faith", but having faith is believing, and I can pick any mythological creature where to deposit my faith in, and I'll start believing in it automatically and even have revelations from it.

so again, my question is:"isn't depositing one's faith in something or someone exactly the same as believing in it?"

why don't you just accept that you're stupid and there's no such thing. like santa claus. just stop believing and be like us

note: this isn't serious, it's sort of a parody to all of the monotonous "why don't you just love god" questions tonight. but if you want to answer like i was serious, i'd like to see what you have to say.

Mathew and Luke record Jesus as being born during the Reign of Herod, King of Judea... Luke happens to also record that the reason of the travel to Bethlehem was the Census of Quirinius, which took place 10 years after this particular Herod's death... How does this work?...

(For the record, the later Herod, who Married his brother's wife, killed John the Baptist, and so forth is another man entirely, in fact, both his brothers were Herod as well.... But that is another matter entirely)

I understand that different people will have different opinions of Islam. If you look at our truths and think we are backwards and wrong.... then you are totally entitled to that. But why would someone want to create a false Muslim identity. This seems so childish to me. You haven't proven anything negative about our faith by this.... but only negative things about yourself.....

what does everyone else think?

Peace and blessings,

63. And behold, all things have their likeness, and all things are created and made to bear record of me, both things which are temporal, and things which are spiritual; things which are in the heavens above, and things which are on the earth, and things which are in the earth, and things which are under the earth, both above and beneath: all things bear record of me.

One day, the maidservants being engaged in other work, mother Yashoda was churning the yogurt into butter herself, and in the meantime Krishna came and requested her to allow Him to suck her breast milk. Of course, mother Yashoda immediately allowed Him to do so, but then she saw that the hot milk on the oven was boiling over, and therefore she immediately stopped allowing Krishna to drink the milk of her breast and went to stop the milk on the oven from overflowing. Krishna, however, having been interrupted in His business of sucking the breast, was very angry

Question: Why Mother Yashoda Stopped feeding/serving Krishna for the hot milk on the oven?

Inspired by a previous question about Adam and Eve being Black, I started pondering on how DID all the different races of humankind come to be? Did each race of humans transform from a different 'monkey'? We have gorrillas, orangutangs, chimps, etc. Did 'white people' evolve from the baboon?
Cheers!

When the early protestants, were being killed by the catholics and they were burning english bibles at St.Pauls cathedral?

How about in Ireland with what still goes on today? God must think one of them is right and one wrong as there are some very different views on things?

I can somewhat comprehend killing others of a different religion (well not really) who occupy your "holy land". But to kill people who believe in the same god as you because of different interpretations of a book written by apocolyptic nuts who said the world would have ended a long time ago is yet another proof to me that faith is ludicrous.

So since it has to actually be a question, to you christians who side was/is god on?

According to the answers about heaven from christians, the place will be stress free, plentiful, and full of the dead person's loved ones.

Stress free? How could you be stress free, whilst still being able to watch your children live their lives? Would you no longer care? If your kids acted against what you believed to be your god's wishes, wouldn't you still be able to worry about them?

Plentiful? With what? If you are only spirit, you would not need to eat or drink.

Loved ones? They wouldn't be the people you knew whilst alive. These spirits wouldn't possess the characters of these people...their humour etc. What would you talk about? Those loved one's, ballsing things up on Earth? The weather?

What about those you had expected to be there waiting for you and didn't make it? Would you just shrug your shoulders and say 'Oh well'?

So what will you be? A blob of inarticulate 'love', adoring a god who is still allowing pain and suffering?

when you do not agree with their belief," I will pray for you".
It is IRRITATING BEYOND BELIEF, number one if you really want to pray, why do you feel the need to say it? Do you think to be better than others? I do not need your prayers to make me change my mind, keep it to yourselves.

Some people think they can say whatever they like no matter how offensive, disrespectful, nasty or racist their words are. I wonder though, do these people actually say stuff like like to peoples faces or do they just say these things on the net because they can hide behind an avatar and nickname without anyone knowing who they really are??

Would you rather believe in God and find out that He doesn't exist, or not believe in Him and find out that He does?

Think about it. And be open-minded. I know some of you are going to think, "Well, he doesn't exist, it doesn't matter," or something like that.

But really give it some thought. If you were to not believe in Him, and then find out that He really does exist...?

Does this shock you? This seems to show what I've been saying all along and what the Quran actually says when everything is in context. Don't harm non muslims, leave them to worship as they will, only fight in self defense of a physical attack against you. Does this say anything to you?

'Thus, Islam guaranteed non-Muslims full rights with Muslims to their lives, their freedom, and their possessions. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, He who ill-treats a non-Muslim subject or overburdens him will find me his opponent. Islam allowed non-Muslims to live on Islamic lands with respect and honor. It did not impose segregation, but instead permitted non-Muslims to share fully in Muslim society and to participate in activities among the Muslims, in accordance with Allah's instruction in the Quran:"
