I believed in him until I was about 7 or 8 years old. I think the spirit of Christmas was why I believed in him. But passed about the age of 6 I started having doubts because every year my dad would sign his gifts, "from: Santa Clause." And I also just couldn't see a logical explination for Santa Clause to watch children all the time and then bribe them with toys if they were good. Plus I could understand why I wasn't allowed to look in the closets around the holidays. So, one day I looked in a closet and saw two big bags of toys. One was for me and the other for my little cousin.

Yes. Then I went through a dull phase where my mind was consumed by things I called "real" whatever that means. Now I perceive more clearly, and once again I believe in Santa Claus, but much more deeply than when I was young.

"When I was young, I thought mountains were mountains. Then I grew wiser, I realized that mountains are not mountains. Now that I am old and enlightened, mountains are mountains again."

Peace to you.

My mom was a very wise woman. From a very young age she taught us that Santa Claus is a custom, a nice story, part of the Christmas magic, but nonetheless fictional. She used to take us every Christmas to give presents to the poor people in our neighborhood, and took us to many different churches around Europe (we travelled alot) so as to understand each and every religion as to have respect for all people's beliefs. She reminded us everyday that hatred and evil come from fear and ignorance, and that we should Choose for ourselves what we want to believe once we have weighed and understood each belief. She was cool.

I believed it was true because Santa can be seen in TV. Remembered one show says that Santa is a normal working man until christmas then he will go around giving present, and only the lucky ones will get it.

because, my parent's passed on the "Magic of Christmas" to me, Santa was wonderful, and he stops at our house too, this can be easily proven by the eaten cookies, and empty hot choclate left in the morning on X-mas, sled marks have also been reported in the snow in the back yard, proving beyond ANY shadow of a doubt of the existance of "Santa Clause" !
